I wonder how many people know how common this sort of thing is with nighttime DJs. All the way down to the sisters and mother/daughter angle.

I was on the air back in the '80s and '90s (carts, not computers and analog boards with pots not sliders), and this kind of weirdness happened all the time -- to me and the overnight guy.
