I know it's the wrong part of the country, but when Earleen first met Mo, I could have sworn there were banjos playing in the background. The give and take between the two, along with the fake hick accent, is fascinating as I don't usually find it in these stories. All I can say is, well done and looking forward to those three sparkies getting their comeuppance.

This is an enjoyable read, and I'm looking forward to reading Chapter 2. But worried about the assault. I'm not saying that it shouldn't have been written only that I'm worried about your well-developed female protagonist. I like her. I wonder what else Mo is not telling her.
