Started with a pet peeve of mine. Third person narration going to first person. I thought I'd look past that until the woman turned into a total slut with her husband's acceptance. Skimmed through the rest. It sucked that badly.

Decent writing. Yes, you write well, but wholly without any feeling and no sense of storytelling. A "story" has at least three parts, and it has a theme or plot, both of which depend on believable characters and conflict. This was a vignette. For example, there is no inner or external conflict for the main character. Every character is flat - we didn't know MC was married for the longest time - and they all seem like they've pulled their scripts off the writer's desk and they're reading their parts. Moreover, respect for the reader requires at the very least "tags" and as bonus points, some kind of introduction. The Internet has excellent resources on learning to write a story that readers want to read. YouTube offers information which up until recently was only found in university writing courses.

The party that we had at work to celebrate the big contract that we just signed almost cost me my marriage. My boss,coworkers and I were all working over for a couple weeks. I finished eating, put my dishes in the sink. Went to shower and got in bed. I really tried to stay awake so I could get some loving from Eric it had been to long. I remember him getting in bed and he didn't say anything and I was out again. In the morning he was up and feeding the children. I was in a hurry and apologized that I fell asleep and that I had to be at work early today is a big day. I kissed the children and Eric good bye. He didn't really respond. I said see you later. The day was one of the hardest times that we ever had at work. When we were done Sam had ordered some food in and he brought out the alcohol and the party began. We had skipped lunch and the alcohol was effecting just about everyone. The music started and people began dancing. I was dancing with Jim and I'm not making excuses but he was really a lot like Eric. He could be his brother maby his twin and with the alcohol and not having my Eric's loving for a while I for sure was act right. I heard commotion and looked. Here came another Tom. I said stop Tim. It was to late. Now I thought Sam was smart but he had to try and he was on his ass instantly. Finally the music was off people were fussing and I was begging Eric to please forgive me and please take me home because I couldn't drive. He said I had until he got to his truck. He turned and I ran to get my jacket and purse then ran after him. I made it. It was a cold house but finally was back to being a warm home again. When I showed him the bonus check that we had all got he asked if it was hush money or really a bonus? I said I was told it was a bonus. From then on there was rarely alcohol at work and very little at that. I was very lucky.

6 months later...hubby's divorce is finalized...he finds out that her and 9 other clients and coworkers have been diagnosed HIV positive.

He immediately gets tested and is relieved to find out his test is negative.

He never saw her again...and 4 and a half years later he got an email from his ex-wife's mother. She informed him that the ex-slut had passed away and she was inviting him to the funeral.

He chuckled to himself and muttered, "yeah right" as he deleted the email. And never really gave her any other thought.

Technically, it was ruined by switching from 3rd to 1st person and back again, only to end up in 1st person. There were some typos in there too. IF you think the story warrants switching there needs to be a very clear demarcation.

Use Grammarly, languagetool.org and/or hemmingway.org or something similar to help you.

Tags - you have 10 at your disposal, there is no excuse not to use them. Add an introduction that warns of some trigger topics and it might keep some of the vitriol away, but you will always get the likes of @26thNC who just can't help themselves even when given fair warning they have to read (sometimes chapter after chapter) and comment negatively. That said, a story with this title in LW, it really should be obvious what the content is going to be.

Story, has been done many times before, there were a few questionable points:

Robert pressuring her to go with him, so what if your partners have bailed, suck it up, it's what you're paid for.

Robert insisting she stay even when he was leaving (so much for the lift home he promised) even though she was the one doing him a favour.

Maurice threatening to tell her boss if she didn't come up to his room. Really? How about fuck you, I have a husband and reputation to defend.

Even then it was doing OK until the boss raped her. No is simply no. She says no, he apologises and gets off and hopes she doesn't go to HR the next day (only that she was whoring for the company would save him).

But now she has to get another job. Robert will be constantly pestering her for more, word will get around the other bosses and she will be called on to entertain more clients and the other bosses will want some too. Rumours will spread around the office and she will be looked on as nothing more than the company whore with people either reviling her or wanting some of her. Her hours will get longer and longer she will see Brent less and less and will eventually turn up with one STI or another, up to and including pregnancy.

A bonus point for it being your 1st story, but that only leaves 2.
