Four stars due to some issues with believability. Otherwise, an okay effort.

GREAT story!!!!!
Even funny in moments "Seeing as he couldn't play ball anymore (in more ways than one)" LOL
5 stars from here!
Good story right up to reconciliation. It was unbelievable from that point as no man would reconcile after that level of humiliation. 1*
"I didn't want you to cause a scene and get the crap beat out of you, just to have me leave with him anyway." - So she'd leave with the guy who beat the shit out of her husband? If Marc DID beat the shit out of him, he'd be looking at legal trouble and probably a league suspension.
~~~
"his season ended December 29th. That was over three months ago" - Isn't that only two months?
~~~
"But, Jim, I'm lonely. I need another adult to talk to." - So call them on the phone.
~~~
Why the reconciliation? Dump her and grab Jasmine with both hands and hang on for dear life!
@Anonymous Re: Paying for the call girl - She did it for free, though your idea is still a good one.
Why is Marc's punishment worse than Linda's? SHE'S the one who cheated, not Marc.
@dmann, staying true to GA's story doesn't mean not changing the ending. Changing the ending is one of the primary reasons for an alternate version.
Even more than in the original there was no reason to take her back. My *5 was for the damage to Marc.
Story was well written. Overall liked it until he took her back. She twice cheated on him. Where was the one and done that Jim kept talking about? 4 stars because he took her back. I would have gone lower , but they way he got back at Marc, was very good.
Your alt version is better. Good until the reconciliation. Way to forced. If I'd had to guess I'd have single thought this was the alt version as the reconciliation came out of left field. No remorse from her ever... How do you possibly reconcile when she thinks she did nothing wrong?
Well written and engaging though
That was total crap, there is zero chance any man would take back the cheating whore, not in a thousand years. And the quid pro quo ending is another load of crap, cheating is not and never will be the same, why because since the dawn of time the only way for men to "try" and ensure paternity of the children is a "promise" vow of fidelity, because over the millennia women have so often broken this promise it created a stigma of anger and hate towards promiscuous women to be sluts and whores. Why is it not the same for women? Because they have never had to question paternity of their children, nor had to develop ways to ensure paternity, nor had to deal with the pain and suffering associated with the betrayal, the lies, and the lost lineage "one of life's biggest purposes" caused by a cheating wife, because women have never had to deal with any of these, they really don't even phathom how it effects men and just think it is the same as it is for them, a little hit to their ego and a couple lies, not the pain and suffering and utter devastation that men actually go through!
