Enjoyed this story, even though I thought it was a bit short. I really didn't understand their relationship until I was into the story quite a bit. But I still enjoyed it. Maybe a follow on part 2?

You're right, I left a lot of the backstory up to the imagination. In future stories I will be more deliberate about how I develop the plot in a clear way.
