I found the story interesting.

I know that in life, many strange things are not impossible. I looked into what is now "intersex". In the process I was brought up to date when it comes to human physical developments. And as a result, a headache to boot. But I will leave that for others to discover on their own. I will admit that I left the superficial study in comparative anatomy to lapse some five decades. The information was very persuasive.

But as we see in literature, the world imagined can range far and wide, and in between.

The story teller wound the tale very well. It worked to an arrangement that can be emotionally. Personally, I enjoyed the tale.
