Ambros lost control of his temper from the start. "How dare you suggest we would do such a thing? Do you really think I would permit this overt act of aggression from my own people? Especially against an alliance that's working in my best interest?"

"I don't know what you're capable of doing," shot Aedan. "But I wouldn't put it past a Swabian to do something dirty. We've all seen what Swabians do in times of war. So what was the plan, hmm? If you sabotage our army enough, you can turn on us and have another attempt at retaking Picardy?"

"Your accusations are baseless and not even worth responding to," yelled Ambros as he moved closer to Aedan.

Once again, Jack had to put himself between the two men before their words turned into blows.

"I will not work with these Swabian bastards, Jack," raged Aedan as he stepped away. "Not after this! I see what's really going on here! They want to take over Picardy again!"

"Aedan, you need to relax," said Jack, trying to keep calm. "We'll find out what happened but is this really worth causing a ruckus about right now? You have no proof of any sabotage."

"My proof is right there!" yelled Aedan, gesturing to the destroyed hangar. "It's all the proof that I need. I will not fight with them. If the Swabians haven't vacated Picardy within twenty-four hours, I will yank my forces from this alliance, and I will urge all the other heads of state to do the same." Aedan then turned to look at Reina. "You won't fight with the Swabians either, will you, Reina?"

Reina locked her eyes on Jack. "Aedan has a point, Jack."

Quite suddenly, Jack found himself in an even greater predicament than before. Not only had the storm damaged a significant amount of equipment, but now half of his allies didn't trust the Swabians (a situation that was already precarious to start).

How in the world was he going to get them to stay the course now?

And do it in twenty-four hours?

That Aedan is a real dickhead.

Aeden killed more of his people with the plague than the Swabian army ever did. He needs to be reminded of his past poor leadership.

A thought occurred to me about the idea of sabotage. If, in fact, the destruction of the hangers was due to an act of sabotage, wouldn't it be interesting if it were committed by disgruntled soldiers from Col. Tavish's command? That would certainly give Aedan a huge dose of humility.
