Okay, I'm not normally one to complain about this, but this story literally is unfinished. It cuts off mid conversation, with no indication it's a 'part one' or a first chapter. And the tags for it make no sense.

I am not sure where this one is headed but if he wants kids he would probablly want to be in the kids lives and what kind of a mother would she be? She would be a terrible example, cheating with her would destroy his chances with the judges and his lawyer too. So her offer just does not seem worth while, I mean come on it is super easy for a successful man to find a very lovely, and willing sexy lady. Her offer just does not carry much value.

If Larry raised his son, he'd probably grow up to be like Larry.

He wants kids, a real family, and a wife who isn't a filthy stupid whore.

Why waste time on revenge when you can move on and get what you want? Life is too short. "Don't go away mad, just go away!"

They are NOT all that well written, you're no literary genius, that's for sure, and the disdain and contempt you have for your readers is palpable.

Brenda's plan just does not fit with the story that has been written, Frank wants kids, Frank does not have the smoking gun proof of Ruth's adultry, but Ruth could sure get proof of Frank's adultry. Also Larry being the jealous type could easily dump Brenda and then she would lose her "lifestyle" she craves. Frank cheating with Brenda just would be a waste of time. Frank needs to dump Ruth and move on, but Frank would probably be money ahead to not tell Brenda his plan until after Ruth has been served at work and Fank should name Ruth's coworkers in the divorce.

It isn't that this one doesn't have an ending - it doesn't even have a middle. Just when I was getting into the story, it was over.

It was kind of intriguing until his desire for children was introduced, and the fact that his wife does not want children. Then why did he marry her, and after only six months of dating? Its obvious this marriage is shallow, distant, and these two people are not really engaged in each others lives. They don't even have the same goals. Makes you wonder if they do anything together besides eat and fuck. If this guy wants a normal marriage with wife and kids, then he needs to accept the reality of his current marriage, sit down with the wife to arrange an amicable divorce, and go find the partner and the marriage he really wants. He will be doing her a favor, since obviously she does not value her marriage enough to be loyal. While it would be really interesting to understand her motives and her goals, JPB almost never bothers to explain the emotional and psychological issues that cause his female characters to cheat. Its almost like JPB thinks all women are cheaters, and who really cares why? It suggests JPB has a history with women that is very sad.

The bigger problem for me with this story is true for most of JPB's work, the words and the actions don't make sense. How can a woman care so little for her husband, her marriage, her own self-respect, and this doob of a husband had no clue? Oh, right, she acts just so perfectly normal and sweet and good at home, then turns into a cheating cruel carefree slut for other men. She's not a human being, she's an automaton, a machine, not a woman. In reality, if a woman is getting away with this level of betrayal, then their relationship is shallow, tepid, and very distant. Its obvious her husband has never been to her place of employment and has not met the people she works with. Why not? And she's supposedly fucking two different guys from work, and the rest of the office doesn't know this? Bullshit. And he and she have no mutual friends that they socialize with and who might have seen her during one of her hotel rendezvous, which may have been going on for years?

If she's taking long lunches to fuck other men then how does she maintain an 8-hour work day? And in six years the husband never shows up unannounced to take her for lunch? Sorry, JPB makes the activity of cheating similar to going to a Rotary lunch meeting. The whole cheating process in this just too neat, clean, and clandestine.

But that's OK with JPB, because his agenda has nothing to do with his stories making any sense, or illuminating the aspects of human nature that underlay cheating and adultery. Apparently the punch line for this story is, Hey, your fucking my wife, well, I'm fucking yours too, so there, nah nana nah nah. Now have a nice day.

If you want closure, resolution, or, God help you, understanding of the plot and the characters, you're reading the wrong author. I don't know any other author who has written so many stories that contain so little understanding and compassion. Betrayal and revenge by the bucketful, but answering the question Why, almost never. And that's the real mystery of JPB's stories.

Negatives were often written as positives, and vice versa. Letters or words often omitted. Otherwise, a pretty good story. Either the tags are a complete mess or more chapters are to follow. (I prefer to put the tags with the chapter that uses them.)

I have to agree with numerous posters. If he wants a family, neither staying with his current wife, nor having the affair gets him closer to that. If he was willing to make a deal, he could have offered her 'help me get more direct evidence about my wife and this other fellow and I won't last Larry in the divorce filing.'

This just wastes time and potentially undermines his case.

I liked it up to the point Larry's wife came along. First Bob gets wishy washy about divorce and revenge then the whole story drops with every plot line still open. I was sliding my cursor towards 3 and suddenly stopped dead at 2.

Where have all you commentators been? This is JPB at his best. A good story with a non-ending. Read more of JPB's stories. He does this ALL the time. That's just the way he rolls. His reply is this - "I write for my own enjoyment and then I offer to share. Like it or hate it. That's up to you." So you will have to make up your own ending. Because waiting for JPB to add a second chapter is a complete and utter waste of time. He never does. CHEERS!

Bob has been generous in allowing others to "complete" stories that he has left open-ended. I think that this is a story "starter" that he actually hopes someone will take interest in, and finish out for the rest of us. FTDS, long since missing in action, needs a replacement. So who will take up the mantle? But even Ohio and MANY others (yes, you too Carvohi) have found in JPB stories more than enough fodder from which to expound upon. There USED to be a fine tradition here that has been missing in the last few years. The story invitational. Chagrined TRIED one not that long ago to my memory, but was thoroughly flamed for even having had the thought. I thought it was a good idea, myself. But since then, nobody can be bothered, it seems. I think that JPB is merely taking a more subtle approach to the invitational. Perhaps he is hoping to provoke someone to finish his story, without DEMANDING that it be done. After all, he probably misses FTDS too....

It seems funny to me how many commenters seem to have missed the fact that Frank ALREADY made his decision to get both the revenge fuck, and the experimental anal, while he was at it. That was way back in PARAGRAPH ONE. So even though the end comes at the beginning, this story DOES have an ending. I think that this is just in case nobody DOES decide to write their own sequel. That said, it IS absolutely in need of "MORE". There is way too much aftermath left to explore in this scenario.

But forthcoming sequel or not, long time readers of JPB should neither be surprised nor disappointed in his "single event snapshot of time" writing style. This IS Bob, and this IS how he has always done it. A theme as universally simple as: This guy has a choice, and what will he do? That is actually what Bob is most famous for. No, he has never appealed to EVERYBODY for this, and lost many curious would-be fans along the way because of it. But although I don't know JPB from adam, I'm willing to bet hard cold cash that this doesn't bother him in the slightest. He has always seemed to have a little of a "fuck you, I write for me, not for you" sort of relationship with the audience here. I haven't liked all of his stories either, but there have been many that I have. But there has never been a day that I didn't appreciate his contributions to this site, and his prolific volume of variety that offers choices for us to read, even when just running through the random story spinner. And I appreciate even more the fact that he has inspired so many OTHER writers to follow in example of compiling a large body of work for the story archive here.

Frankly, I'm just happy that he is still churning them out, at ANY level. I think that most readers here should be too. And just may be, MAYBE, one of them will think long and hard about "Frank's choices concerning Ruth", and feel compelled to write the rest of the story. Because when THAT happens, Bob can smile to himself, and know that he has done his job! Inspiring others, to their now shared craft.

I have to admit, I almost missed it too, but to all of you who think the story is incomplete—open your eyes! JPB hid the end in plain sight—right in the beginning paragraph. All of you purist, who have went through life never making a mistake, and are so wise you know just what others should do—even in a damn fiction story, just keep reading stories you don’t like and writing comments tearing down the writers who supply you with free material. Yep, makes a lot of sense to me, but then, what do I know?

Bob, you didn’t ask my opinion, and God knows you’ve forgotten more about writing than I ever knew, but you really didn’t proofread this one very well. Besides from that, Mrs. Lincoln, I thought it was darn good show. Thanks!

I don't care for it. An unfinished story is just that, an unfinished story and to tell me to use my imagination to finish it. Well, that's not the reason I read stories to make my own conclusion. Bang the wife. Film it, and be sure to have her repeat her plan while you're doing it. Send Larry and Ruth the recording. Then 'confess' to Ruth, and ask her since they now have an open marriage, doesn't she think it fair you find one more lover, just to even the scales.

If she agrees, dump her. If she disagrees, dump her. Bite the bullet and let the lawyers hash it out. You probably won't go to counseling, but if you do, have fun with it. Show the counselor your photos of her at motels with two different men, and inform him or her you're still one behind. Then show him or her the tape of you having sex with another woman, and I'm pretty sure the sessions will be over quickly.

Move on, find a decent woman, and start again.

Not all authors name the first story in a series Ch 1. So if you follow up with more chapters I'll give 4 or 5 stars to this. If no subsequent chapters then I'll come back and rate it 1 star.

Even if the revenge sex is as physically aggressive as indicated in the opening of the story, it is not spontaneous, at home, with someone who loves him. Maintaining the ruse will require sneaking around, acting as if all at home was copacetic, and changing his entire way of life. If he did father a child with the "other" woman, he would not be the dad who hears the first word, watches the first steps, cries after a fall. He would go each day after work to a house to a woman pretending to be his faithful wife with full knowledge of her deceit.

Not a happy life.

This is JPB 's thing. I love probably 75% of his stories , and given that he's posted over 700 of them, he's given me a lot of enjoyment over the years ! In fact , a lot of days when the L.W. stories all are just awful , I'll gladly go to JPB' s site and reread some of my favorites !

I agree that it would be great to have some other authors to continue the story , in the past I know that JPB has allowed this, I wouldn't see why he would not again.

The one glaring plot hole in this story is that the wife that wants him to have revenge sex and possibly children , said she was secretly on birth control , unless she starts making her husband wear condum' s , how will she know it will be Frank's child ?

Overall, I liked it even if it did take me a moment to realize that you put the ending at the front. If I was to suggest any editing, I would tend to eliminate the discussion about kids. It detracts more than it helps.

First off why in hell would she have to divorce her cheating husband if Frank divorced his cheating slut? Second point is that it seems highly suspicious to me that the wife of one of the men his cheating slut of a wife is having an affair with would suddenly appear. I'd be suspicious as hell that it was a setup designed to get video proof of adultery for his cheating slut of a wife to use against him. Not that any of this means it's a bad story, just that there are a lot of things not adding up for me at this point.

The lead in talked about a woman leaving him, but nothing ties that in to the story, was it Frank and Brenda? Left we wondering and wanting to know. Most unusual for a JPB story to not tie up the loose ends.

While you typically like the "leave them hanging" ending, this just comes across as incomplete.

There is NO revenge if the cheating wife isn't exposed. So what is he to do....stay with her and risk getting AIDS or something else from her while she has her fun?

The non declared open marriage is a physical health danger for the husband to decrease his life span in this case, because the husband has not any aim for this non declared open marriage (like kids, big fortune, illness etc...). He will not meet his biological kid and in that case he uncover the paternity he will cause much pain for everybody to sinner and innocent alike.

JPB does not end 97% of his stories. These 3% JPB stories are a funny exceptions.

My comments of the last two JPB stories gave been critical of carbon copies he had been churning out. When I read this version I enjoyed the departure from his recent format. The end at the beginning and the ambiguous future it promised. It posed an intriguing question, what if a person found out their spouse was cheating but didn't want to change their lifestyle so they were decided to let it continue?

Then I ventured to the other site and found another carbon copy story. JPB I enjoyed this version much more. 4*

Well, maybe not so cool, that part.

But hear this, that is what I did. She confessed, then messed up again. After the dust settled, we stayed together, because we had children and didn't want to mess their lives up....nothing was ever going to be the same between us. And indeed it wasn't.

I took a promotion into a new job that included lengthy travel 3 times a year. So I took advantage of the situation to engage in a series of affairs. That went on for the better part of 6 years. I stopped when I changed jobs and had got that out of my system.

Eight months into the new job, things changed again.

On a date with my wife, we encountered a couple that had her hissing to leave right now. I stopped her and demanded to know what was up. She revealed that the man was her former lover. I insisted on being introduced. It took nearly half an hour to get her to do it, but in the end, I'd met them, smarmy, snarky smiles and all....but I knew the wife by sight, now. The short of it was, I fucked her silly for several months, until she got pregnant....and we have arranged a modest and very private situation where I can be part of our daughter's life, on occasion.

I don't know if my wifey ever fucked around, she probably did, but I had quick caring and only fucked her rarely and always with condoms for the rest of our marriage. I'd had the kids DNA tested, and yes, she'd managed that well enough, but I'd wanted no more kids with her.

After the last of our kids left home, we quietly divorced and I moved in with my long time administrative assistant (my work wife, she was often called) and sometimes paramour. We married three months later and have been very happy.

Everyone is losing their mind because the story ended before it should have. Just saw it posted on SOL, and it was twice as long with a full outcome. Must have been a snafu in either JPB's submission or Lit dropped the ball.

Run Frank! Tell that selfish broad to get lost. He would be stupid to go along with that revenge plan. He don't know anything about her, she could be setting him up. If he wants revenge he can find other females to screw that aren't married. I think it would be less of a headache then getting involved with a married woman.
