I don't know which of the characters I find more disturbing. Laura's whole passive-aggressive whore vibe would make me avoid her like the bubonic plague and D's a douche bag, whole-floor condo or not.

That's not a fault of your writing- you rendered a couple of unsympathetic characters very vividly but it's like a William Blake painting or Goya etching. Well-executed sir!
