This started being annoying in the third paragraph and didn't let up:-

"Bree? Your friend from school days?" Now, it was me asking cryptic questions. (Not even a bit cryptic!)

Etc, etc.

And the constant calling both his sister and the girl Natalie was beyond confusing!
