Quite a good story, but I found the 'third person' narrative a bit strange, as you also interspersed it with first person speech. It might have been better if you had told the story in the 'first person ' from either Dorian or Athena's point of view, using 'I', 'me', 'my' etc.

The author was trying to suggest that this is an incident out of his own life - a true story. Thus, he wrote most of it in the first person. Yet, in order for the story to truly 'work' for the reading audience, he needed to include the conversation between Athena and Crystal, which he was apparently not around to have overheard. He had to have been told about the conversation later on, likely by Athena, but couching it in the third person was the only way he could figure out, to include it in the story. He'd have done better if he'd written the entire thing in the third person.

Personally, the story doesn't really work, for me, as I'd rather see Athena and Dorian wind up together. I'd have preferred it if Athena had mentioned that - from time to time - in his emails, Flint had mentioned going out to dinner with some of his German counterparts/clients, and had described a girl named Gretchen (or some other German sounding name) as being fairly unattractive. Then, on Christmas Eve, Flint and Dad go out to get dinner and Flint accidentally leaves his phone at the chalet. While they're gone, Flint's phone dings, indicating an incoming email. Curious, Athena looks at it, and finds it to be from Gretchen. In it, she mentions how the last four months, spending all those nights with him, were simply amazing. And, as a little Christmas present, she attaches a nude selfie, showing that she's one of those busty, devastatingly gorgeous blonde Aryan bombshells - the sort Hitler wanted to use, to repopulate the Earth with.

Athena realizes that she's been had, royally. If you’re not going for a straight out smut story, the plot and dialogue need to Carey the pacing until the moment the two collide.
