So glad you're back!

Love this story, so fucking glad you're updating it. Do you plan to work on Renascence, too? I really hope so... Either way, I'm happy to get any nora content at all. Totally looking forward to more :)

Nora,

This series is fantastic! And, now I'm worried... Birth control pills + antibiotics = "holy crap!" This could get ugly really quick...Nora, you have to DOOOOO something! They're happy, and Celie is going to school, and Wes is going to JH, and they aren't ready, and...dang, I sound like Celie, don't I? Haha

Great job, sweetie, great job.

Well described

and adorable. Cannot emphasized how well you detailed this whole story from start to finish, whether it was her internal vocalizations of doubt, her insecurities, the story flow around her, how she missed Wes and how he completes her...epicly woven. You took your time to paint every little part for us to enjoy later and it really paid off. Thanks for such a partly poignant yet totally charming and enthralling tale. I always enjoy your offerings and this is no different. 5

This is sooo good. So many praiseworthy things I want to point out.... I'll pick one...I chortled at "...a woman sconed..." Chortled! Not just a great pun, but a great pun that you'd earned because you'd already established the characters' relationship with that coffee place. It would have been clever on its own, but you made it dance, too. You're freaking amazing.

Best laid plans...

Medical romance. Woman on the pill taking strong antibiotics. You doubt have to be a doctor to see where this path will lead. Absolutely loving this story. 5 stars and a fave

Well, I promised to report back after this (not final, heck yeah) part 4, and here I am. Three things:

1) That was incredible, thank you so much for sharing.

2) I am really curious to see where you decide to take this. Be back soon, please? Pretty please?

3) I found the scone-joke hilarious. So either the joke is actually good or I was so enthralled by your already mentioned mastery of breathless, rapid-fire dialogue that I just thought is was. Either way, that's a compliment.

Nice addition to the series. Excellent writing, dialog, and character development, as always. I hope the next one wraps it up, though. Even given her personal history, Celine’s continued self-doubt and doubt of Wes’ love for her is getting a bit old. Wes needs to close the deal, and Celine needs to admit she loves him and support him closing the deal. Again, wonderful work!

Birth control pills and antibiotics

Contrary to popular belief and previous recommendations, it is generally understood that antibiotics do not interfere with birth control pills. The one exception is a drug called rifampin. Whether this was used in her case remains to be seen, but it is not a first line drug with this kind of infection.

No author worthy of the title ever let reality stand in the way of narrative necessity

Obviously, there will turn out to have been a slip up in the pharmacy substituting rifamwhatsis for the intended medication. Happens all the time.

They will also eventually realize that while each carries hugely negative baggage, the result of two large negatives multiplying is an enormous positive.

See, all obstacles overcome or at least rationalized away.

Not surprised

Another great segment. Beautiful job. Have loved every part of this.

I think your writing is so unique . Especially the depths and widths and colors and storms etc . You use to describe a victims negative hell . It is so beautiful and dark and vast . You also do well with the highs . Unlike anything I have read . GR8 work . I love it .

pk2curiouspk2curiousover 3 years ago

On another note . Substituting rifamwhatsis can only be administered by norafares . Injecting it directly into the ink cartridge . This can have extreme adverse effects . Known to turn the letters green . And in some cases actually disappear . This would be a tragedy .

Just a note

Excellent story but... people with bacterial meningitis are sick as stink and would not be chatty or eating scones. It's a life threatening brain eating emergency. And you'd need a lumbar puncture for diagnosis. Maybe just stick with flu? Also if she was in the foster care system she'd be vaccinated for pneumo, even if her parents were anti vax.

I'm a pediatrician so you can trust me :) but I do giggle when the characters act like a doctor for children is soooo amazing... that is not my life at all (I am a chick though).

not bad...

interesting reading...just too many ´ofs´ in the wrong places...

can´t be helped, i suppose, since junior high teachers talk that way...

as well, it´s always ¨try TO¨, never ¨try and¨. incurable, i´m guessing.

Still going strong and loving it. Hope Celine can conquer her insecurities. A little concerned that the illness might sause them problems re children. Still a fantastic 5 .

“Woman sconed”…. God, that either the best or the worst pun ever… I guess this is a case for worst equals best. Love it.

A_BierceA_Bierce11 months ago

Not only the birth control pills-antibiotic possibility, but much has been made of how contagious pneumococcal meningitis is, so how did Celine get it? I'm almost afraid to read the concluding chapter. Almost.

Unusual in every way : very good story, very well told, sexscenes, erotic but not porn - but above all very sensitive in every way.

Touching.

I love it !

A Bodice Rippah! What chemistry. (Hepburn and Tracy?) (Menegitis and graduation, like 'Love Story?) You sure how to turn a rom-com into a thriller...

Hi there, I’m Nora :) I write about flawed characters navigating their way through life, often falling hopelessly in love along the way. I grew up on 90s swoony Bollywood films, endless piles of cheesy romance novels, and obsessively rewinding that part where Matthew Macfayde...
