She describes in DETAIL what she did. He did not ask for that, he asked WHY she did it, not what. After all those details about her affair the only normal reaction after again feeling all the betrail and throwing up, would be to walk away finally and ever look at her again. Have sex with her after that? That makes no sense. It is as if the author is trying to find an EXCUSE for reconciliation. He still love her and forgives her. After that description and the reminder of the depth of her selfishness, there is not way they would have reconciled. The daughter's attituded made far more sense. Her actions were the result of loving her father, not her mother. You better work on more pluasible and believable motivations because your character development so far does justify their actions. He was not a wimp, but he is crossing the line and again you have not set up enough justification for this reunification of their lives.

Here's a 100. You can put these two back together. They are both assholes. I mean, a Father (pontentially) ruining his daughter's wedding for something HE wanted? Thank God you're stopping.

Come on, tt. At the very least, use a spell checker. Swear to God, it would only delay your posting by a couple of minutes, and it would make the story a lot more readable.

There was even a question mark embedded in a sentence, obviously an author's note to himself that wasn't removed.

Also, I do agree with a previous poster. The estranged daughter's wedding is hardly the place to make some sort of 'statement' about the mother-daughter relationship. Some time prior to the wedding would have been far less disruptive or at least distracting from the wedding itself.

You have written some fine stories, but ,in my opinion, this is not one of your better ones. Any father who risks ruining his daughters wedding by insisting that she welcome her estranged mother to a place of honor at her wedding is an arrogant self-centered man. Hhe could have discussed this with daughter weeks or days earlier but last minute pushing it down her throat is unforgivable.I would have grabbed groom and left both mother and father to have their reconciliation while I and my husband to be left town and had our own private wedding ceremony without pompous father and adulterous mother.

I have to agree that the plot device of the father insisting the mother be seated with him was inappropriate. You have those conversations before a wedding not at it. No good father would want to subject his daughter to that kind of emotional betrayal on her wedding day.

Same as the earlier one. I feel bad for the daughter. They both are divorced and still have hunger for each others body is a surprise. Don't take an easy route by making her pregnant this time. Let's see where this story goes.

He had 5 years to talk his daughter into forgiven his mother why would he try to ruin her wedding.The daughter could have very easily walk out, where would the idiot father be then, if he still had hot pants for his exwife why take a chance on his daughter big day.The story is to far-fetched to be believable.

The frame work of having the father force the issue of the daughter forgiving the mother, on <b>Her</b> big day is really unbelievably selfish. I mean the reason the bride wears white (among other things) is that its her time to shine and the groom is the required accessory (^_^). But for the father to "choose" that day to force the issue shows unbelievable callousness</p>

<p>The other point that got me was when he ask her "why" she goes into all of the hows, why's, how great her lover was, etc. And what gets me is the comment about "if the public didn't go after him with snide comments he would have been able to get past it". ????? That makes no sense. Why didn't they just move to where no one knew them? If her seeking a seasoned professional wasn't an issue how shallow could his character have been to divorce her if he really didn't care if she cheated? But it was clear he was wanting her back, regardless of what she did, by choosing his daughters wedding, and he got what he was after when they had sex. I mean "really", like who didn't see that motive coming.</p>

<p>This is clearly a reconciliation story setup between two selfish people who really hide their true intentions. The father because he wanted back in his wife's pants and didn't care who, or where, he had to do it to make it happen, and the wife who cheated on her family in such a public way, and probably would have continued had she not be discovered, and the husband being too self absorbed to even care long as he wasn't alone.</p>

<p>There are way too many good people who are would jump in front of a city bus rather than do anything to cause any pain or injury to their marriage mates, and to see a story like this where all of his friends are cheating and he acts like he doesn't care long as its not public knowledge tarnishes the choice not to cheat, and hurt their mate, made by all those people who resist doing these actions on a daily basis.</p>

Also the almost lyrical description of the massage went unappreciated by me, because it just did not feel right in the context of the story. Personnally I think that it is common for lovers to get back together, epecially if they did not develop another relationship after five years, but it does raise the question of why again.... I personally think that getting remarried is not a good idea.

Ignore the negative comments, I'd love to see a Chapter 2. I enjoyed this story, and would love to see how it ended.

who didn't like what he did to his daughter. No matter what he may have thought, he had no right to spring that on her, especially just as she was to walk down the aisle. What options did she have? Raise a ruckus until her mother was moved? Refuse to have him walk down the aisle with her? (Though that would have served him right.) Not get married until the mother was gone. He put her in an impossible situation on the one day it really IS all about her. This is NOT the act of a loving, caring father, but a self centered asshole.

After not talking to the ex for five years at the daughters wedding the husband betrays and humiliates his daughter and manipulates the wedding in favor of his ex. Then they go out and get fucked with each other. I find it difficult that the daughter would even finish the wedding much less ever speak to the father again. And to pine for a slut who carried on a long term affair and then go crawling back to her showing your stomach like a dog in submission. You have to be kidding, this is pathetic. The writing isnt bad but the plot is trash. Sorry you oduld write well and throw words together with no meaning, in this case you almost did that. Thumbs down!

You were rightly critical of the detailed description that the ex-wife gave of her first encounter with her lover, instead of answering the question "why?". Well the answer to that is pretty simple.

TabooTeller used that as his opportunity to describe in detail the wife having sex with her new lover. Almost every Lit.com writer believes that he or she can describe better what has been described a thousand times in erotic literature. There are only so many ways to describe fucking, yet every writer believes his is the greatest description yet. It makes no difference if it really is out of context or doesn't fit story well...it has to be done.

That is my opinion, anyhow.

3 stars - there is no real reason for this bit of sexual activity after their daughters marriage. Five years is a very long time, but as far as I am concerned what she did to him was way beyond any possible RAAC. Sorry, but this sort of reconciliation is just NOT believable. The TRUST is gone forever and she has done nothing to regain that TRUST.
