Some excellent characters here. Once again a great instalment.

The previous book was dark and intense. The cabin story arc with Velvet was incredible. I didn't like the angel part, even less the story about Velvet's sister and the cyclop. The previous books were really good, just the right balance between sweetness and danger (and a mote of horny monsters).

This story is just too sweet, without much thrill. I don't feel the impending doom on the house or his family.
