"Sweetheart, what's wrong?" he asked, reaching his hand out to brush away my tears.
"Nothing I'm just...so happy!" I cried.
"Is that a yes?" he asked me anxiously. I looked at him once more.
"Yes, yes yes! You are everything to me. Ill marry you, and I'll be the happiest bride there ever was" I exclaimed. I threw my arms round him and we laughed and cried together.
"I love you" he said solemnly. "I love you and I want to be your husband. I want us to have a life together. A real life"
We held each other tight.
TEN YEARS LATER
We had a beautiful wedding. Looking back at the photographs I see a young girl. A nervous, unassuming young girl. I see a couple in their infancy, unsure as to what the future holds. I'm thirty now. My father ... my husband is fifty four and we love each other more and more every day. The years have been kind to us. We live a life that I thought was never possible. I am in love. Today, tomorrow ... forever. When he dies I will die by his side. We are soulmates. True lovers. I still wonder how many people have done what we have. I still shake my head disbelievingly as I think back on everything we have done. It still seems amazing how far we have come even now. If our friends knew that we were father and daughter they would think our love insane, but I know that we were meant to be. Society may never understand, but as long as I have him I have my heart and soul. I have him. I have life.

MizTover 13 years agoYou played out the torture of a parent trying to fight the urges, extremely well. Although I think the urges were more about not hurting his daughter (including rumor) rather than about incest. You shared this wonderful journey about shared love rather than incest. It just so happens the love was between father and daughter so it was in fact incest. Great Story
