The rest...

The story in it's entirety has been posted to Lit, it's simply awaiting approval, there are 19 chapters in all. After it's been on Literotica for a few months, I will probably offer it as an ebook for those that want it as a complete collection offline. Details to come.

Good work. Interesting story and the best part is that it's unpredictable for me so keep up. I'll be waiting for the ebook.

You Write Very Well, Above Average...

...And certainly above 'pretty good'. Its becoming a fun biography and I can understand you feeling a connection with 'Jack' as he bumbled his way through his 30s and the family he had created, then flashback to the Jack that's bumbling his way through the family life of his teen years, not that the bumbling was anything awful or anything any of the rest of us didn't bumble through :) Loved your use of time as a tool to allow your reader better access into Jack's life along various crossroads. Your dialogs are just excellent, with good spacing, allowing the reader to 'breathe', and keeping miscellaneous punctuation to an absolute minimum. If I have a criticism thus far, and even this early, I think its worth noting... it helps to present some pointers as to whatever it is that will become the crux, or source of your chapter. Like perhaps the conception of Jack's daughter, if somehow that was mapped out or storyboarded out as something seen to have future ramifications. This may help build a little better anticipation into the story. But overall just a solid story, and the writing is excellent. Thank you for sharing it, and I'll be looking for more. Cheers! --- Josie

Looks promising

I look forward to reading more, just one critique though. You almost lost me on the first page when you used the word context 12 times in about the same amount of sentences. It was very distracting. I hope you take that the way I meant it as constructive.

Great story!

I have read all 3 of the posted installments, and this is a great story! Well done, and can hardly wait for the next one. Thank you.

I'm really enjoying your story. Thank You.

I'm no expert on wine, women, or literature, but I really really know what I like. This is a great story, so far. Part of the "problem" is that this story appears to have received such extensive editing and polishing that it really outshines almost anything else I've read on Literotica. Guess I should say I'm sorry you haven't been able to find a publisher, but then I probably wouldn't be reading it. I know that Daniel Q. Steel is flogging his mediocre love/betrayal drama on Amazon, but I haven't found that the free chapters have compelled me to purchase what has been so far offered. I think his story is still unfinished? Lost interest in it anyway. But maybe that's an opportunity for you?

But this is a great opportunity for me to enjoy what is shaping up to be a very compelling and original story. Thanks again!

Wow!

That was a quite wonderful first chapter. I don't know where this will go, but it's a terrific start.

I have now read this story from beginning to end

The author asked for some book reviews and provided the total story to read.

In a word AWESOME! What a talented individual. The story is outside my usual genre but I thoroughly enjoyed reading it and had difficulty putting it down. I went till 1am last night to try to finish it before I had to go to bed.

I wish I had a fraction of the writing talent this author exhibits. It's well worth reading this series through. Spoiler alert! Kleenex needed at the end!

I think I just figured out one of the literary devices being used by Finis

I had to go back through chapter 00 to confirm it, but at no point is the name of Jack's wife mentioned. my wife, she, and her appear frequently, but no names except for the daughters. It just got even more fun.

Excellent Opening Chapter

There are solid characters, ambiguity and a pleasurable interaction with the story.

@rightbank

Noticed that immediately as well - and no mention of what Liz's real mother's name was, either, or what happened to her other than "she's gone." Which is... ambiguous, to say the least.

Serious "How I Met Your Mother" vibe here, hope the ending is better. XD

@Finis, 5* opening, enjoying this thoroughly thus far. Hope it continues well!

READ THIS WHOLE STORY

Love and heartache and sex and joy. Very well written (only found a couple of grammatical issues...just live with them!)

The best compliment I can offer

Is buying your book on the big river website. Thanks for your writing.

Possibly the best writing that I’ve ever seen on Lit. I readily identify because I, too, was the bullied, non-athletic nerd. Looking forward to reading the rest over the next few days.

Wanna give it a "4"...but you get a **5**...too good, and too many of us understand the feelings Jack is having, even 20+ years later!!

SSSOOO looking forward to the rest of the series!!
