very cool The first chunk blew me away. You've been there, haven't you?-- chick storms out then comes back with some kind of disconnect in the logic or the whole convo-- her stepping back in to the place she'd rejected felt solid. The story transitions well, but the narrative also undergoes a metamorphosis...

It is lovely to be able to raise this kind of subtle objection when so often there is far worse before one.

I so much want to like this story. It does have a good theme and build up, it uses the right ingredients, but somehow it does turn me on.
