Granted, you could define the drama - or lack of it - in the marriage over the extramarital sex as being a telling factor, but the overwhelming bulk of the stories in this category involve wives having sex with someone who is not the husband. It has been that way for quite a few years. I think some most definitely do NOT involve a "loving" wife as most of us would define loving. As you will see if you choose to read the rest of this story, love is still very much a factor in Jane and Davexs marriage, as it is in the actual married couple for whom this was written. Nonetheless, I have removed the remainder of the installments, and they will appear in Interracial, where hopefully they will ruffle fewer feathers.

Sadly, the moderation is also pretty willy nilly and it appears that what comments are allowed is based more on which moderator you get than any hard and fast rules. Now, since you have admitted that Literotica fails to provide proper guidance on categories (and rarely move stories to a different category, which further confirms their aloofness), let me ask you this. What do you see as the distinctive difference between a Loving Wives story featuring an interracial sexual encounter and an Interracial story involving a married woman? To me, it's obvious that the drama it causes in the marriage is what makes the difference. Do you think it's enough for the writer to merely mention that she is married? I'm sorry if this offends you, but your response seems to be "There are no hard rules, so I'll just do whatever I want." Granted, that seems to be acceptable to the folks behind Literotica but I'd like to think that folks would at least make some effort to make the best choices when publishing their story. After all, like putting a pork chop recipe in a kosher cookbook, the response you get will not truly reflect the quality of what you submitted.
Anonymous12 months agoThis subject isn't my cuppa, so I'll just address the writing. This is too short to be a story. Instead, it reads like a proposal or a synopsis. It's completely unstructured, and suffers from the anemic fault of most amateur writing: 'telling instead of showing.' In other words, the dialogue was largely MIA, and where it exists, it was empty and flat.

The first rule of fiction writing is SHOW, Don't TELL. Too much exposition and commentary. The reader needs to SEE the characters, the setting, the characters' interactions, and the action that takes place. Those require developed characters, an evolving plot that results in conflict (look up the literary definition!), and the resolution of that conflict. This reads more like a bar story that's hurriedly told.

Spend some time learning about the elements of fiction. That's not a knock but a fact that everyone who wants to write decently must explore. Find someone to look over your work. What we "see" when writing may not be what our words evoke in others' imaginations, and after all, satisfying and entertaining the reader should be why you write. Mostly, write YOUR story, and realize that the vast majority (90%+) who vote do not comment. Thousands of people who are not as screwed up as many of the commenters will read, vote you a good, or at least fair, score, and move on, long after the mouth-breathers have crawled back to their lairs.
Anonymous12 months agoA good story and you have warned the readers that it is fiction which is good. The blatant racism is what annoys me. These stories are always written by men about the myth of the BBC. Women never write about this subject, at least those who have experienced both types of penis. It is a myth and the sizes described in these stories are ridiculous. A 7 inch penis is HUGE. A 9 inch penis is so big that the male cannot effect an erection,only managing a chubby semi. Literotica has two mechanisms for readers to find the stories they might enjoy (besides just browsing the new story list). They are Categories and Tags. The proper use of one does not relieve the writer from the proper use of the other. This is especially true since while you can search by a wide variety of things, Literotica's search function does not allow you to exclude results based on tags.

People, like me, who enjoy a good story with marital drama check the "Loving Wives Stories Hub" to look for new stories. Many of them, myself included, check every story posted in hopes of finding a story worth reading. Determining whether or not to read the story is based on the blurb, tags, and comments. Thus, especially in cases where the writer failed to use any tags or when tags are incomplete or misleading, warnings about content are placed in the comments for the benefit of the next person to find the story. Unfortunately, there is a delay in comments actually appearing, so you're going to get a lot of overlap once they do.

So, if you don't want people commenting about how you placed a story with an Interracial focus into Loving Wives, don't put the story in Loving Wives. Picking the correct category is not actually that hard, despite the massive number of writers who fail to do so. When it comes to Loving Wives, there are basically just three questions you need to answer.

The first question is, are the main characters married (whether to each other or to other people). It's so simple, but I'm still surprised by how many stories get posted in Loving Wives despite the answer to that question being "No."

The second question is, do the events in the story cause marital drama. This may confuse some, but Hotwife/Swinging/Willing Cuckold stories do not belong in this category because there is no marital drama. They are simply stories where the main characters happen to be married. Even so, the emphasis is on the sex and thus the category should reflect that sexual activity. Thus, these stories should be in Group Sex, Interracial, Fetish, etc.

The third question, and the one that probably trips up the most writers, is, is the marital drama properly resolved. If the focus of the story is the marital drama, then resolution of that drama is necessary for the story to have a climax (independent of the characters' climaxes). This is why RAAC stories don't belong here. While they include marital drama to ramp up the sexual content, that drama is then discounted and ignored rather than resolved. Some will argue that "getting over it" is resolution, but that's just a poor attempt at justification. RAAC stories generally belong in Fetish or BDSM as they typically involved forced chastity and Femdom, but can also be Group Sex or Erotic Encounters type stories.

So, what does that leave that actually belongs in the Loving Wives category? Well, it leaves basically two sub-categories of stories. They are reconciliation stories and separation stories. True reconciliation stories, as opposed to the misnamed RAAC stories, are where the marital drama is resolved to the satisfaction of both parties in a way that allows them to remain married. Separation stories are generally split further into two categories. These include stories where the marital drama is resolved to the point that the two parties are able to divorce amicably and stories where the marital drama is resolved by divorce and revenge (aka BTB).

Now, you might consider me a hypocrite, but I enjoy stories involving single people that engage in the same behavior that I hate in stories involving married people (unless the activities are actually between the married parties). As to your question about gay/lesbian stories, there are two different answers. First, and this really applies to all categories, is that people who aren't looking for stories matching a specific category aren't going to be following that specific category looking for stories. I would guess that a reader who is primarily interested in Lesbian stories, for example, would call out a writer who posted a Gay Male story in their category and vice versa. However, as there is less fighting over what belongs in any other category compared to Loving Wives, that's rarely going to happen.

Second, to address gay/lesbian activity specifically, it is only logical that the complaints would almost exclusively come from straight folks and some will be strictly homophobic. However, it's also true that a straight male is less likely to enjoy a gay interaction in a story than than a lesbian interaction. If it was homophobic, the gender wouldn't matter. I don't think many people, even gays, would argue with me when I say that, on average, women's bodies are more beautiful than men's. Yes, you have the Adonis's that break the rule, but they are exceptions. As such, a gay scene is going to be more disruptive to more people than a lesbian scene. When you add in that there are generally more guys than gals on sites like this, it's to be expected that a lesbian scene is going to go over better than a gay male scene when added to a story outside of those categories. Once again, this is why tags are important for full disclosure while the category is for the predominate theme.
