The emotions in this story-line feel very raw and real. I really enjoy them and hope you will write more. A little late for the development of your characters, but making Rick a billionaire was unnecessary and in some ways gets in the way of the relationships you are developing. It would have been enough for him to simply be a competent and successful engineer.
