Both could see the tears form in her eyes as she hugged Becky. "The Unit changed my life, you then centered my life and allowed me to truly live again. When Ruth and Curtis bought gran's house back and gave it to us as a wedding present, I simply lost it."

This time she gently pushed Becky away so that she could look directly at her.

"Well, Mrs. Becky Carmichael, you came into my life and turned it upside down, so in retaliation I took you off the market and married you. You're stuck with me, moods and all."

She then looked at her friend, now leaning against her police car, her arms folded across her chest and smiling at the antics of these two women who had indeed turned this little part of the world upside down. Pullman now had a married lesbian couple living in their midst, and not only that, the fashion house just kept getting bigger and more well known around the area and country. It brought not only much needed full-time jobs, but celebrities that came to visit as well.

The mood of the town council had changed, and for the better, because they could see the difference, even though these two girls had only lived here just shy of two years. Becky had gone to the local school and offered a free walk around the fashion house on a once yearly basis to the more senior children. She had even set aside a room that would hold thirty school children and their supervising adults; usually their teachers and a couple of staff if they had questions that needed answering. Some of the staff and some of the mothers of the children dressed in the designer clothes and did a formal catwalk to show the school children what the fashion house was about.

The council also noticed people who were born in and around there wanted to stay in Pullman now, more so since the fashion house only employed locals. If they needed high-tech people, they searched the local college, even members of the local camera club were hired occasionally. Some of their photos ended up in catalogs and on the Fashion House's website. The tourist industry had noticed, and the town was now included in their brochures. Just recently, Becky Carmichael even approached the council with early indications that the Fashion House wanted to buy the old fish storage and clearing house to convert into a hotel.

The fishing boats had long since gone and nothing the town had could keep the clearing house open, so it had been left boarded-up for the last five years. Becky said that the views from the top floor of the clearing house of the beaches and the bay area alone would bring people in. She was even there when the sun was setting and cast its own glow across the bay, making it seem like the water had changed color. Becky took a picture of that very moment and sent it to Ruth. While JoJo was away on duty, when Ruth and Curtis came to visit, their visit also included the clearing house.

It seemed some American company had put a bid in for the building, along with a request for preliminary planning permission to turn the building into a hotel.

A small note from the guy who penned this.

My thanks for reading this, I hope you have enjoyed all three sagas of Halo. Even now I smile when I think that it was only going to be Halo Two-Five. The popularity of that took me by surprise, considering this is Literotica.

The owners of this site have been kind enough to turn a blind eye to my ramblings and publication of all three books, and I feel truly blessed that they have let me. The Unit, Curtis, and indeed, Halo have come to an end. Even I have to admit it is time to say goodbye to them. I will keep writing but please, don't ask for more from the Unit, where possible, I left them all in the right place.

I gave it 5 stars but stop in the middle of Jo Jo and Becky's scene. Just not into any kind of gay sex.

Dam, when JoJo and Becky were in the shower it felt like I should close the door and let them have some privacy. Guess that's how good a writer this author is. Sorry that the unit was disbanded but all good things must come to an end sooner or later.

I have enjoyed all three separate titles. The author has beautifully finished each one. It was a sheer pleasure to read. Thank you markelly for sharing your stories and your amazing writing skills that bring everything to life.

A totally awesome series. After reading all of the three parts in one day, literally starting about 4pm on one day reading through until 6am the next day (I am retired!), of course I took breaks to cook supper and make snacks and wander around to shake off sleep and foggy head. The stories blended together well with each of the retired and grizzled leaders ending up with a nice love of their life and happiness in the end. What is not to LOVE! Damn your a good writer!! And now I have a great many more markelly stories to read! Oh yummy!

I loved the Halo series. Having read most of you stories I somehow skipped the Halo stories. I will truly miss them.

For me I know when a series of stories or books is really good when it has me wondering who my favorite character is.

What RanDog025 said. Just skipped the JoJo/Becky bit. A tag or forewarning would have been nice.

I don't see how this is remotely a part of your excellent Halo two-five especially the first chapter.

I truly loved this Trilogy, the combination of great character building, action and romance is a heady mix indeed. The wonky spelling of words however was a constant irritant through all of these stories, I know I’ve said it before, but please use a beta reader to weed the errata out, preferably one that comes from the country you’re writing about. As to the comments about only peripheral links to the original Halo story, I’d remind people that all forces units have a constant turnover of personnel, with newbies, retirees, transfers, leavers and promotions (normally into another unit) all contributing to constant change.

Yes I’d love another story involving one or more of the characters that I’ve invested time and emotion into, however I also recognise that authors like a fresh challenge and trying to find something different to write about after three in a series wouldn’t be something I’d want to do either, fwiw @Markelly we really do appreciate what you’ve already written and posted here for free, just for our entertainment and I wish you luck writing whatever new project you’re currently working on.

Many thanks for writing and posting, cheers Ppfzz.

I disagree with Wargamer to a point. This is only tangentially Halo. It’s really a separate romance, You have well developed characters here and in original Halo that could be used going forward in a variety of ways. May I suggest a mystery series involving Carmichael and Marshall?

However you need a much better editor. There are spelling and word usage issues throughout your writing that need to be addresses, for example, “there” v. “their” and the use of the same word rwice in a sentence. Sadly, Microsoft and Grammarly remain no substitute for a good pair of eyes. There’s also the issue of King’s English versus American English. My view is that the coice of English dialect should reflect the subject and person speaking. Woild be pleased to help you if you wish.

No more Halo stories, yes l understand that. But something similar could be the go. Please do not misunderstand the depth of feeling for these sort of stories by your fans. We love them.

Write similar or like stories in your unique style and we will read and vote accordingly. You are one of a small group of brilliant authors posting here and we are grateful for your stories.

Scores 5/5
