I'd been avoiding both of the Andersons for obvious reasons. But I was especially worried about running into him based on the messages above. What possibly could there be for us to talk about? And he had always been making these little passes at me, so I was wary of him to begin with. When I went home I started always going left out of the driveway to avoid the possibility of seeing him in front of his house. I found myself looking around at faces, even on campus, seeing if he was there, whenever I went out with friends, and especially if I was out alone. But I never did see him, so that was good.

He was that guy...you know, the guy who makes stupid passes at the babysitter while his wife is in getting dressed? Nothing outrageous. More like saying how nice I looked all the time, even when I didn't. Or just the way he looked at me, like it seemed like he was looking right through my clothes. Or how he had to hug me every time I came in the door. Or he would say I smelled really nice. Stuff like that. It made me uncomfortable but not too much. I figured I could handle him like all the other idiot guys in the world who are out hunting pussy.

Nothing more happened between the 4th and the 23rd, and then I got a new message, the one that convinced me to start this file. I read it sitting on my bed with my roommate Alicia doing some work at her desk.

That's when I really freaked out. I knew I had a big, big problem. All of this happened in my first month at the U. I started to think about going to Mom or even to the police. Problem was, Mom tells Daddy everything — and he would super freak out. I guess Mom would too. There was no one else — not even Amanda or Ben for this one. I mean Amanda is my bestie forever, but we all know she loves to gossip. I couldn't handle worrying about that. And Ben is my super bestie forever, but this was way too embarrassing to share with any guy, even my cousin. The police? That would only make it worse. The more I looked for advice online, the more it seemed like he wasn't really breaking the law. I know it really affected my grades and concentration that first semester.

On top of everything else it bothered me that he was a total idiot. How can someone in business spell like he's in the 3rd grade?

01/03 - But then, like it was a miracle, the texting stopped. Nothing at all for 3 months. I hadn't seen him or his wife, and I was pretty sure he hadn't seen me. How? If he had he would have texted me about it. I was feeling better and better. It seemed like he had just given up. Then this:

02/04 - The next was 30 days later:

02/20 - Two weeks after the gross "swallow" text I went home for the weekend to see Mom and Daddy. I saw Mr. and Mrs. Anderson at HomeDepot when I went with my Dad to buy a new patio set. Neither of them saw me. I told my Dad I felt sick and we left right away.

I was in total shock. My head was going to explode. Julia had seemed quieter and not herself the last six months? Jesus Christ! I would have been in a coma. I Googled him again, read more about him, saw more pictures of him and his wife. But it wasn't fun this time. Now I hated the motherfucker.
