Christian nodded in agreement then he and Alexander turned and watched as the guards pulled the doors open and stood waiting for them to enter.
Christian took a deep breath then stepped forward. Hand in hand he and Alexander walked into the corridor just outside the entrance of the great hall, not knowing what would happen once they crossed the thresh hold. Apprehension gripped them both as they took those first few steps towards the unknown. Alexander was tense but he pushed his fear deep down within himself. He held tight to Christian's hand, their fingers intertwined, as together, they walked into an uncertain future, neither realizing that their world was about to change forever.
