Sorry Pixie, couldn't resist that. There was so much to make me smile in this enjoyable new chapter. The bit about MPs being caught in flagrante with soldiers recalled the 1950s when a lot of this went on (most notorious was a Labour MP called Tom Driberg who got away with behaviour that would have had most men in the slammer before you could say "Oilskins!") Looking forward to more, Pixie.

Well, at least the first chapter of this sequel is off to a deliciously steamy start. I see that Bella is quite the inspiration to your recent writings, and I definitely approve. And as with all of your stories which have a historical bent, I love the way you mix the historical setting with fun and sexy plot twists. Oh, and this preview line for the rest of the chapter was hilarious...

I am thrilled about this new story, transcending time and space. I wonder how far Lady Pixie and her American Lover will go. Through the entire decade leading up to WWII? All the way to the post war years?

But I am being greedy. There is the prequel Lady's Maid I must read before I can even think of making demands on the author.

This story contains delightful entertainment, history lessons and erotic fiction at its finest all wrapped into one. It also contains a stinging critique of the prevailing double standards in British society at the time.

Apparently male homosexuality was ok when practiced by the members of the aristocratic class. However, the full force of the law against the crime of homosexuality would later bear down on Alan Turing, the brilliant mathematician who arguably won WWII for the Allies by breaking the German enigma code. Credit must also be given to his colleague and fiancee Joan Clarke. Just like Archie and Pixie, Alan and Joan needed a heterosexual relationship to cover their true sexual preferences. And to this day, the church of England does not recognize same-sex marriages.

Pixie, please forgive my digression and not-so-subtle subtle suggestions how further historical references could be weaved into your stories. I remain your avid follower.

For shure at time, 1929, and i have been reading many stories with a layout much later in UsA and the sapphic love or better gay lovers have never been really accepted, still today there is much to much hate in the society, ok not only focused on the lgbt but its there ...... Dr beulahthemick; I found your list of stories and started with the previous serial and if this is half as good as that, it will be brilliant. At last someone who is spot-on about Churchill, a self-professed supporter of Mussolini, a drunken, racist, self promoting idiot, why he is so beloved in this country is beyond me, but then the Daily Mail also supported a certain Oswald Mosley and one Adolf Hitler up to the 2nd of September 1939.
