but might have found a more welcome audience in Erotic Horror. Usually a good choice if there is any sort of non-human combined with death of a character, certainly a preying mantis or black widow idea.

A bit too much explaining to the reader early on, you'd be surprised how much of those early paragraphs are not needed and instead more detail of the surroundings, visuals, smells, plus appropriate dialogue is all you need. But there was a decent build of tension in the Serah healing, and once the sex/transformation kicked in, it was pretty cool. More of that with less info dump to get better storytelling in general. :)
