An excellent tale! Thank you for sharing it.

I especially liked the reuse of the postage stamp analogy. When you first put that out, I stated that I was going to "steal" it for my own use, and I did,

Positive, affirming stories seem to be in short supply nowadays, so, again, thank you!

This is a beautiful and well-written story. It is well told and captivating. In times like these, people could learn some lessons from this tale. The punctuation and spelling leave a bit to be desired, but it does not detract from the story, in my opinion! Great job, as is usual, and I look forward to the next one.

This comment is more for LIt than Author.... How are these similar stories????

SIMILAR STORIES

Jack Masters, PI - The Betrayal

-Betrayal has consequences.

Gift For Whom?

-Wife shares husband's anniversary gift with another man.

Trust Loyalty and Respect

-Wifey caught with her ex, and how it all crashes down.

I Will Survive

-Don't count your chickens before they hatch.

I rely on the similar stories to find new stories, I don't like cheating and this story had no cheating so why are all the story suggestions about cheating?!?!

These stories were great. It is obvious that you have a farm connection; your descriptions of the combines, equipment and harvesting operations are authentic. Raising dairy in California is also fraught with challenges. I know the area that you write about… but your experiences with Claire and Emelie are foreign to me! Thanks for sharing.

What a wonderful story. When I got to the part "we'll still be sitting on the porch holding hands enjoying the sunsets", I got really choked up. That's what my wife and I had planed for when we grew old, but it wasn't to be. We did get to set outside in the gazebo where she lived and spent her final days, but it wasn't the same. I guess that's why I love happy endings like this one. Thanks.

Liked it, but there's mention of them having four children after five (Claire, Ernesto, Andrew, Marcea, Tiffany) were born.

WONDERFUL STORY, AS ALWAYS! Claire helped Dave become a man, and too bad he couldn't have given her a baby. Claire knew he needed Emelie as a wife, and gave Dave, her second "husband" to her by insisting he needed Emelie as his wife, soulmate, and mother to his children. Together, they made Claire a "grandmother" and added time to her life. Dave was not only her lover, he filled the role of son...

I keep saying that the story I had just read. is the best, but then I read the next story, and that one is. Well, this story beats them all. Starting when the man was just a young innocent. boy learning! how to grow up, and become a loving husband, and father. Thank you for a great story. 15 stars.

amazing story esp after reading last paragraph what r we without hope even if unfulfilled hopelessly idealistic

most exceedingly important I didnt notice one instance of foul language and most especially abuse of the name of the supreme being first time ive read a story which didnt i was not particularly looking out 4 it(possibly i am mistaken) however I do notice it when reading many writers use a lower case for the first letter(rather than customary capital, which is some acknowledgement) yep i know my comments will upset most n probably not pass review if possible id like 4 u at least 2 c my comment I also find it so interesting that one never comes across the abusive use of other peoples supreme being
