Very good story.
Betrayal, closure, divorce and then the search for a new life.
Another fantastic story cagiva.
I always smile when I see your name as the author cause I know it will be good. 5stars
Good job. Someone staying true to their morals. Need a few more stories like these
A good story. One thought - a motorcycle crash would normally cause some serious injury. D
Why did she have to turn lesbian…strange ending when the MC is offended her beau slept with other women…
Dmander: Having ridden and raced motorcycles. I have experienced a few accidents. On race tracks with good run off areas, and gravel traps. It is possible to have very high speed crashes, and walk away. It's not falling off that kills you, it's the stop at the end.
Basty56: Why did she fall for hr friend??? Why not. She had been betrayed by men, why not enjoy the love of a woman?
Galama88a:
Why is it the wrong category??? She was the epitome of a loving wife....
Loved it till the end.
How could she turn into Lesbian ?
I felt you finished in haste.
You surely can write a better end.
Part 2 ?
Good writing as always, Cagivagurl.
Regards
Mightyheart:
Why not?
Why is it so impossible to comprehend? She found love, and solace in the arms of a woman???
After being let down and betrayed by men
Why not???
Like that you took your time developing Nikki’s character from the long haul trips with her father to the motorcycle racing and beyond. She has agency and “what you see is what …” honesty — you know exactly in no uncertain terms how she feels. The TV expose’ bit much, but why not. Getting together with Diane; likewise, why not. Nice pace, right category and true to the theme of the Invitation.
Hi. Cagivagurl,
The story is fine as far as it goes-a BTB is a BTB either old-fashioned gender…
The issue for me is that there is a decided lack of symmetry when “the shoe is on the other foot,” so to speak, in your female beating on men stories. I, and I am sure many others here would really like to understand the distinctions that you draw that really make a distinction in this cases. I wonder if your previous story has cracked a 1000 comments yet! I am glad that your protagonist finds love; why is it that your male characters don’t get this in arguably worse situations?
Gave you a 5 for this one. I was afraid Anton was going to switch back to only domestic flights and they would reconcile. The media exposure was the perfect revenge.
Wow. She really treats her female and male characters differently in her stories.
This story taught me something about myself. When I read about a wife who cheats, I get angry. It happened to me. When I read about a husband who cheats, I think, "One more worthless man to make us all look bad." It's more disgust than anger. I suppose that's a double standard, but it is what it is. This story was hard to read because of it, but it was good and well written.
I understood this chick. I liked this chick. So when her world exploded, how can I hold her to a different standard than a male story? Some people may not like that standard. I am giving a little benefit of the doubt today.
/
The lesbian thing was sort of telegraphed but a null point for me. CG is a long time poly/bi booster, so no surprises but also, no offense. The MC left one relationship and found another.
/
It was my second or third favorite in the list, understanding I didn’t read blackrandi’s. Despite some of my critiques at her rationalizations, her writing ability is always on point, doing an excellent job defending a bad case. Her writing is talented, her character construction is usually good and despite her inability to know the difference between ‘to’ and ‘too’, the prose generally flows (and sometimes flows…and flows… and flows some more. CG, call me! You have a problem 😉)
See next comment to delve into meta writing points.
Let’s talk meta!
/
Was she narrow minded?
/
Was she uncaring?
/
Didn’t she understand ‘it was only sex’?
/
Shouldn’t she, as per most of your male characters, just sucked it up and cucked herself for him? Forgiven! I mean ‘forgiven’. 😉
/
Now, I am guessing that this is some meta critique you are lying down ‘You guys rate a man doing this kind of scorched earth thing at a 4.5 but if a GURL does it and I get a 3.8…’
/
This is a fair cop
/
Let me throw out that you seem to also argue far more persuasively and empathically for this girl than you ever do for your men.
/
Funny that
First, let me say that I am not trying to discuss anything else in your body of work. I do not care about double standards. either real, or imagined. I try to critique a story, not an author. I wish everyone here would do the same. Unfortunately, many people have a problem differentiating between the two.
So, as to this story, I gave it 5*.
It was well written, with very little to criticize in the way of spelling or grammar. I found it easy to invest in the characters. They came across as realistic, and their dialogue was believable. While the ending was not a surprise, it was plausible and well done.
Thank you.
Another double standard story from Cagivagurl, if the MC is a woman she get rid of the cheating husband and get a better life.
But if the MC is a man, he need to be a wimp and forgive the woman, even if she cheat on him for 20 years and get pregnant by another men (like her previous story)
So in Cagivagurl World , woman cheating is acceptable but not men cheating.
How can a good writer like you cant write a good man MC ?
Terrible. And that was the story. The ending completely sucked the life out of what remained of the story.
A 5⭐ for me.
Betrayal has neither sex nor gender. The wound felt is the same whether you're male or female.
Why don't you write Niki's equally strong, upright, active male characters in your other stories?
Why, when they're betrayed, do your male characters go round in circles, feeling sorry for themselves?
Parents, on the other hand, are borderline disposable. In a case of adultery, separation and/or divorce, your child must be your priority, he is an adult who makes his own choices and even if his choices don't match yours, your child deserves all your support.
If the girl cheats the man has to forgive But why not forgiveness the other way around
This story is curious considering the previous ones. In the others, women cheat her husbands, get pregnant by the protagonist's brother, fuck the protagonist's best friend, and a thousand other equally abhorrent things. But as these protagonists are men, they forgive, reconcile with their partner and end up raising children of other men.
In this case the deceived person is a woman and the result is the opposite, she does not forgive, she goes nuclear and attacks with everything.
You clearly have a very obvious double standard. If she cheats there should be reconciliation, if he cheats there can only be destruction, I think you are quite hypocritical and This story is curious considering the previous ones. I have give Cagivagurl stories a 5* in the past, but this one is 4*. I did not find wife to be at all sympathetic. She decided course as soon as she overheard Sally, and there was no turning back. I would have like some more drama/deep consideration of the type that Cagivagurl had demanded of husbands when wife cheated.
The hypocrisy and double standards of these stories are annoying.
Cheating wife -- ridiculous RAAC
Cheating husband -- only BTB
Golly, another woman turning to lesbian Story by this author period what a shocker period
I mean I'm stunned period I mean, this has to be the first time she's ever written a story like this, right?
Something one would expect seeing in the Lesbian category. This was really just a piece masquerading as a Loving Wives story.
CAGIVAGURL.... To answer your question why not?.
Because it's all you ever write about period it's always a political or sexual statement with you.
Your talent is amazing, The fact that you are unable to break out of your mould and your particular sexual mindset is really well kind of sad
Dumb story. Cliche as fuck. Flight attendant are sluts story. Banging pilots.
And yeah right. She suddenly is a lesbian after a big mean lying man breaks her heart. She finds out she likes to eat pussy suddenly? Sure.
Only an inane cagivagurl story.
"... Mum was old school: if husbands cheated, wives were expected to accept the apology and just get on with it..."
This is actually how your male characters operate if the shoe was on the other foot. This time no reconciliation? In your world it only works when husbands get betrayed. If it's the other way round, throw them cheaters to the wolves, ay?
Just an observation that the author thinks a lot like Red Pill Men just the other way around. With a male POV story the woman cheats and usually reconciliation. In a female POV male cheats no chance at forgiveness and usually female become turn off by all men. Now this story the character grew up as a daddy's girl and still at the end had a good relationship with him. Why in the authors own word writes in comments "After being let down and betrayed by men. Why not???" She was betrayed by ONE MAN. Does a person judge a group by what one person in that group does? Now I don't wish the author to start writing BTB storys but to think about diversity of reactions in her stories.
Cagivagurl: Please don't listen to any of the naysayers about Nike and Diane hooking up. Deb had that in mind way before it actually happened. Too bad I'm limited to just 5*. Great job, indeed.
Jeff & Deb
Awesome story and charakter building. Thank you! Too bad ratings are much too low for the excellent quality you produce. That's a shame, really.
Why the male MC never get this good threatement ? And all the Time female MC finish with a women , do you really think its so easy to become a lesbian ?
Wow. I've read all of your stories. For some reason, your male characters have to endure heartache and then are pushed to reconcile in the end. Your female characters are cheated on one time, and burn the entire world to ashes. Pretty sad double standard you've employed here.
Why did the married flight attendants lie to her for him unless they in on it too.
Very well done. I see some of the commenters complaining about the male MC begging and pleading. Irony is not in their vocabulary it seems. 5* from me.
First time reading one of your stories. I’ve read plenty where the husband gets screwed over by the cheating wife. I like your twist of the wife getting revenge on the husband. I was wondering if her mom was fucking Anton they way she was trying to get them back together.
Well you just knew that CGurl's story for this challenge would turn into the usual man hating rant, and now with the added bonus of a lesbian awakening coming out of nowhere.
People miss the point of the story, that Anton is this egotistical ahole, who is all wrapped up in himself. He doesn't even see the pain she is in, all he does is whine about himself. He never tries to put himself in her place, never truly apologizes or repents.
As far as the plot with Diane, that would make a good story for Lesbian section. I gave it a 4 bc the unresolved Diane story.
Poor, Poor Anton! Unable to resist the wicked wiles of naughty Sally, even at the risk of his marriage!
There's an old saying in Britain: "It's all fun and games until someone has their eye out."
A 5* story of Anton, the (now) one-eyed pilot.
As said by other below, the men and women in your stories get treated very differently indeed.
The only problem with this story is one that plagues about 95% of LW stories, so I won't dock points off. Why is it that everyone is ONLY married to super-hot spouse (in this case, super-hot, rich, super charismatic dude). When the main character was musing if her misfortunes were her own fault "because she tripped Daniel's bike", she was of course wrong. But the one thing that WAS true, was not mentioned - her misfortunes were due to her shallowly choosing to fall in love with super hot super popular person. Yes, everyone cheats. But those used to other-sex adoration, especially males, are far more likely to cheat for a variety of reasons. This goes for both sexes, as I said, an overwhelming majority of LW stories here suffer from this.
Having said that, it's a VERY nice BTB, even the daft idiot mother got fixed in the end. 5 stars. I wish Cagivagurl would stick to only writing stuff like this, when it happens, they come out rather well.
Cagivagurl when you started writing stories on Lit I loved them. Now not so much.
Women cheat and you find a way for the man to look weak and forgive them. Men cheat and burn them to the cross and then you start fucking women!!!
Great story, well written as always, and I'm happy it ended well for the protag.
Hate cheaters male or female. Could have done without the fragile male ego bullshit
@Just_Words nailed it. Yeah, I feel the same way. Especially posted in LW. Five stars, but disappointment and no frisson.
Thanks for this. I couldn’t help but think of a slightly different plot direction. If the club were bragging about their conquests to split them up. He would have continued to protest his innocence while she believed the club. The expose could have revealed the affairs of the club however the clubs leader could have confessed that their story concerning Anton was a lie. That said, I enjoyed this story. Well written.
So, from this story, and the author's other stories, it's clear to see their philosophy. It's okay when women cheat and men should just accept it, but if a man cheats, hen the woman should burn down his whole world. The author is a misandrist.
Well written, straight forward tale.
Unfortunately missing so much of the emotion and angst that this author is such a pro at normally.
I love reading Cagivagurl stories. She doesn't write for high scores, she writes from her heart. 5 stars for well told story.
I didn't care for it and you might be my favorite author. Double standard from you when the guy cheats
I probably should have rated it higher than I did. I loved that he was playing Niki against the obvious stereotype. When he finally succumbed to it at the end, it just left me cold.
Fragile male ego crap again. Does it hurt your feelings your husband getting some on the side? Oh that's just your fragile female ego is all. HATE CHEATERS MALE OR FEMALE.
Had to go there? Very disappointing. Anton was an idiot but she didn't have to go that way.
Still like your writing. A bit amusing though that so many of your stories imply that any man that doesn’t accept his wife cheating is “insecure” but the woman in this story seems completely justified.
Liked it.
Don’t understand all the comments about double standards. The guy was a total douche canoe.
I think working at that altitude and all the time zones does something weird to their brains. My brother is a pilot and he’s definitely not wired right.
This was a good story, well written like most of her other stories. She comes from it at a different angle from the women’s side. Some say why one sided. So many stories have man divorcing because of a woman’s single mistake. Statics state that a man is more likely to forgive his wife for stepping out. Woman are more unforgiving when the husband steps out. What I don’t see is the daughter looking for a man with her dad’s qualities. He supported her, taught her. She worked side by side with him. He was her example of a great father.
It’s her story and she gets to do what she wants to it. I question the end only because of her father. It is hard for a woman to feel likes she fits in to a male dominated field. Yet woman all the time rise above that because they realize they have give the extra effort to achieve recognition
In New York City they planned to make the requirements for woman easier to pass in the academy. It wasn’t the men that objected it was the woman who already passed the tuff requirements that were pissed off. They told their superiors that they did not any women who has not passed the requirements they did in their firehouse. I’ve told my daughters the same you have to do what the guys do or you won’t be treated as an equal. They did and are successful in men dominated jobs
The motorcycle parts were great. Could tell you did a lot of research or you had driven them from first hand experience
Transparent as glass. In every single story where the husband cheats you go to great lengths to reconcile, every damn time. When the husband is the guilty party, he gets torched.
Now, personally, I would have sliced off Anton's balls and encased them in lucite for my mantel. You certainly write extremely well. I do think you come across as a bit of a hypocrite however.
"Mum was old school: if husbands cheated, wives were expected to accept the apology and just get on with it.
Yeah, it was the way things were back in her day, but today that double standard didn't sit so well with women."
.
Except when it's the females that cheat, of course.
Very interesting. I’ve read several of your stories where I felt you were trying to say that a wife could have an affair that didn’t harm the marriage, yet here we have a cheating husband and it’s take no prisoners. I apologize if I am misrepresenting your stories, just an impression I got.
Despite being thus associated in this submission, lesbianism is not an outcome of misandry. Sexual orientation is a multidetermined trait in humans but is set before the onset of puberty. The fact the MC had an extreme emotional response to her husband's infidelity would not have laid the origins for her sexual attraction to her own gender.
Great story, enjoyed how everyone thought Anton was perfect. Guess he hates losing, to a woman? Thanks for writing!
Good job! Cheaters always think that what they did is of little importance and should be easily forgiven. They always fail to see that while it was of little importance to THEM, it was devastating to their spouse! You wove a nice tale and kept my interest, thanks for not making it an RAAC. The KTM Duke is an impressive ride.
A lot of this was just plain excellent. The stuff about the bikes, particularly the mechanical aspects, was really good. The pleading by the husband and the efforts by the mother got a bit tedious. The ending with the two women getting together was telegraphed, but I don't believe that the story suffered because of it. On the whole, one of your better efforts.
You have two modes: husband is hideously betrayed by a willfully obtuse, borderline narcissist wife who everyone sides with against him, and after he argues his principles faithfully he suddenly loses all his dignity and apologizes to her for having any in the first place and accepts her back into his life and is suddenly fine with the thing he was staunchly against in the first place (sometimes with a brief first into a relationship with a woman who helped author his misery that he previously hated or a separate woman who suddenly turns on him and helps convince him the dignity and principles are not for men like him, and he ends up in some sort of polyamourous combo) OR a woman who is betrayed by her husband, is allowed to keep all of her dignity and principles and self respect, but only because she end up in love with another woman, and her husband was always, somehow, going to be trash because that's what men are.
The only thing I can say beyond that is at least you have written fewer stories that involve drugging and raping the husbands to trick them into playing cuckold or accepting mm sex acts.
I really liked it. A different take on cheating. Sure the "hosties" are the ones trying to have sex with the pilots, but Anton couldn't hold out any longer and did Sally. They both admitted it in conversations with Niki. Unfortunately Anton was too self centered to see that he was the one who broke up their marriage, and was in the wrong. Even if he kept blaming Niki. She didn't want counseling or anything, just a divorce. It wasn't until later that her mum finally understood why Niki didn't want anything to do with Anton.
Great story.....until the end. Why does every single story have to end with queer stuff? WHY?? Dropped from a five star to a one star.
Jeezzzz!!
RSKY
Good story. Now write one where the cheating wife gets crucified by the faithful husband. Betcha can't...
The problem I have with Cagivagurl's stories is that if he/she/they truly believed in equality both sexes would feel the same literary "pain" with their transgressions. But women get off with RAAC stories and men get shafted.
One thing you might notice is that the BTB crowd hate cheaters of all sexes.
Oathbreakers who don't truly repent and work hard for redemption are condemned in our eyes... Male, female, hobbit, elf... Doesn't matter.
You give a pass to anyone with a vagina. That's not equality, that's horrible misandry and sexism.
Anton is just a fuck boy that never should have married
Niki was raised to be a guy, not be married to one. I expected her to be in a physical relationship with Diane by the time the current affair episode aired.
The major lie told in this story is the one Niki told to herself, that she was straight.
Ignoring your proven, slanted body of work, I will concentrate on this story. It was well written, and rated four or five stars. I settled on four stars. The ending fell off a cliff.
JPB
As one who had given up on C-gurl's stories- the never ending push, push, push ad nauseam to reconcile was too irritating to go thru, these last stories I liked a lot. Sure, in this story it was Anton and her mother who didn't seem to understand the word 'NO', but Niki prevailed. And for all the commenters who 'saw' the double standard of not treating a man cheater the same as a woman- nonsense. When a slimy dude like Anton and his friends not only cheat but do so while lying so convincingly, how could you ever trust them again? Very good story.
"laptopwriter: ... She doesn't write for high scores, she writes from her heart. 5 stars for well told story."
...
If the readers evaluation stars are not important for her, why you gave her the 5 stars ? It would have been enough telling her "A very well told story". Just incoherent.
Damm i wanted to give this a 5 star so bad..and probably will on a second read. But the fact that Anton and especially those flight attendants hoes didn't get a physical comeuppance just had my goat. That dude had no shame he was banging the slut then trotting her around his wife and had her rubbing her nose in his treachery like his shit don't stink.
Always a twist, although this one was more obvious than usual. Good story, well written, and I think this one had a little bit of Cargiva in it - 4.8*
While not the typical story line for Cagivagurl, it's still amazingly predictable. You see, Cagivaurl is a strong believer in RAAC, but only if the wife is the one cheating. However, when it's a cheating husband story, suddenly she's the most die-hard BTB fan you've ever seen. How pathetic...
I was very tempted to just skip this story, as the writer is pretty much a one-trick pony and rarely worth reading. Even though this was one of her rare BTB stories (because she only burns bastards and struggles to write faithful wives), she still managed to include her favorite cliche about the "fragile male ego." Sadly, even before we got to the point of actually finding out who was cheating on whom, it was pretty clear that what was really on display was the wife's "fragile female ego" instead.
TL;DR - Yeah, that's a pretty good summation of this story...
Don’t know, I suppose it was or should have been good but it did nothing for me. Damn. Still appreciate your stories.
Captcha
Easy 5 stars. I really liked Niki and her attitude. The only reason this story is currently rated at only 3.93 is because it was a guy cheating and not a gal. It easily deserves a higher score but this site is full of men with women issues.
Finally, a non-RAEC (reconcilliation at extreme cost) story. And a darn good one. For me, it's hard to see the MC end up "switch hitting" because there was no prior hint she was bi (or if there was, I missed it.) But, even 5* stories aren't perfect, so this one gets 5* from me.
