"Oh, no. Ms. Dawn is a very powerful priestess from here. She comes from an old line of very powerful native medicine people from her country. Many years of powerful ancestors. She is a very special and powerful lady."

"Ahhhh..."

The man moved closer and placed his hand on Dawn's naked belly for a minute, then said something I didn't understand.

"Damera! You are right! I can feel her powers and her baby's powers. May the blessings go with you and your baby," he told Dawn and bowed a little to her.

"Thank you."

"Your baby will be as powerful as you are. I can feel it in you."

"I hope so."

"You are what they call Native American?"

"I am. My great-grandparents are now the medicine people and spiritual leaders on the Cherokee reservation in North Carolina."

"I bet they are powerful too."

"We come from a very long line of spiritual healers. I get my abilities from them and the ancestor's spirits."

"Ahhh, the old bloodlines can be very powerful anywhere."

"I have studied all my life. I was recently made a tribal spiritual leader like my great-grandparents. I will take their place one day soon."

"Damera, you should invite her to one of our spiritual celebrations. She could learn much from it and teach us much, too," the other man said.

"That would be great, Damera," Dawn said.

"Then you are invited! After your baby comes, come by before the first full moon after the first day of Spring. I'll let you know where it will be. We will set up a place outside among nature."

"We will stop by."

"Oh, Ms. Dawn. The doctor cannot come. Only the others from the island with the powers may come and celebrate. Sorry, Mr. Doctor Dawn."

"Damera. I have a surprise for you. My dear husband is more powerful than you know. And our two redheaded wives are becoming more powerful. We have discovered that James has inherited some of what I have because he and I are descended from the same many-time great-grandparents. Our two redheaded wives you enjoy seeing are also from the same bloodline. Those two are even descended from an old Irish Witch."

"I have wondered about those two. I could feel some things from them, but I never asked. Before Spring, all of you come by, and I'll test you to see if you may attend."

"Sounds like a great idea, Damera," Dawn told him.

"Damera? Where will you set up outdoors?" I asked.

"We are looking for a new place. We build a huge fire and celebrate all night!"

"You could have it on our land. There is plenty of room and no neighbors."

"Is your place that big?"

"Three hundred acres."

"Oh, my! That would work well."

"We have big fires down by the trees and a small lake occasionally."

"With no neighbors...we would not get the complaints."

"We have no neighbors. Just wildlife."

"Oh my! That would be fantastic! Is that okay with you, Ms. Dawn?"

"I think that would work well, and it would make us happy if you used our land," Dawn said.

"Very good then! And it would be okay for us to bring the chickens?"

"Of course."

"Thank you! We'll have to come and check it out. Thank you so much!"

"No problem," I told him. "Give us a call, and we'll tell you how to get there."

Dawn finally pulled her shirt together.

"Damera, I will return this special stone to you with more power in January."

"Yes, you will. After your baby is born, you hang it near him for a week or so. My blessings go with you and your family. I can't wait to see your babies."

"Thank you."

Dawn and I left the store and walked back to the Escalade. I opened her door, and she climbed in without buttoning her shirt, and I closed the door.

"He is an interesting fellow," I said as I got in the other side.

"And very powerful."

"How did you convince him you are powerful?"

"He knows..."

"Why would he bring chickens?"

"You don't want to know."

"Honey, you can't run around in public half-naked."

"Sure, I can."

I pulled out of the parking lot and headed toward the interstate.

"I want some ice cream."

"Color me surprised."

"Watch it."

A mile or so later, I pulled into the ice cream shop, and we went inside. I was happy there were no kids in the store this time.

"Hello, Dawn!"

"Hi, Katie."

"The usual?"

"Yes, please."

"Dr. Smith? What can I get you?"

"Nothing for me. I'm watching my weight."

Dawn turned and looked at me, and then she waited for her usual two scoops. One vanilla and one fudge brownie.

"Thank you, Katie. Pay her...smart ass..."

I paid and went and sat with Dawn.

"You better watch the weight comments."

"The one thing you are not is fat. As far as I am concerned, you are underweight."

"I am as healthy as we need to be. I keep us fed plenty."

I sat and watched Dawn as she ate her ice cream. One of her tits was nearly hanging out of her shirt as she ate.

"At least make sure you don't expose yourself to any children...and get arrested."

"It would be healthy for them."

"Their Mom and Dad may not think so."

While Dawn was eating, a young couple came in. I was hoping they were eighteen. They both looked at Dawn as she sat with her tit hanging out. After they ordered, they sat at a table across from us. The young guy kept looking at Dawn's legs since her shirt was short.

"I like your shirt," the young girl said.

"Thank you. I got it in Hawaii."

"It looks very comfortable."

"It is. Being eight months pregnant, none of my clothes fit."

"I have something like that I wear all the time in the Summer...but he doesn't like me wearing it."

"Are you comfortable wearing it?" Dawn asked.

"Yes. I am a bit of a free spirit. He doesn't like men looking at me when I do."

"Why?" Dawn asked the young man as he looked at Dawn.

"I just think it shows too much skin."

"Do you not like her body?"

"Oh, no. She has an incredible body."

"Then why can't she show it off?" Dawn pressed.

He didn't respond.

"My husband enjoys me showing my body off. You should enjoy your lady showing hers off. Or are you insecure in your relationship?"

"What?" He said.

"If you two are secure in your relationship, then neither of you should be concerned about something as trivial as her showing off her body. If you love her and she loves you, then there is nothing to worry about. A woman needs to know that men like looking at her."

"I guess..." he mumbled.

"I could go naked in public, and my husband would not have a problem with it. The human body is a beautiful piece of art. We should show it off."

The young girl smiled at Dawn.

"Aren't you cold?" She asked Dawn.

"I wish! I have hot flashes now, on and off all day!"

The two of them laughed.

"You have beautiful skin. Are you Native American?"

"Yes. I am Cherokee. I also spend time in the sun."

"I thought so. You look beautiful."

"Thank you."

The young man had stopped looking over at Dawn after she put him on the spot.

"I'm ready to go."

I watched as Dawn slid out of her chair, deliberately exposing her pussy to the young guy as he looked. His lady friend was watching and smiling also. Dawn smoothed out her shirt, but her tit was still hanging out.

"Did you like what you saw?" She asked the young guy.

He looked up at her, not sure what to say.

"You...are very pretty..." was all he got out.

"See, no harm. Let her wear what she wants. Be happy other men like to look."

"I don't want problems from any men."

"Kick their ass then!" Dawn exclaimed, and we headed to the door,

I followed Dawn back to the Escalade.

"Maybe you should write an advice column," I said as I opened her door.

"People are too hung up on being naked."

She slid in, and I closed her door, walked around, and got in.

I drove to the house, and we got out and walked through the front door. Dawn took off her shirt and dropped it on the floor.

"I am going to lay in the sun. Put this in the fridge," she said as she handed me her sheep fat.

"Yes, Your Highness."

"Watch it..."

I watched my beautiful wife walk away. I stopped in the kitchen, deposited her goods, then went outside to sit with her. It was a bit cool, but Dawn liked being out in the midday sun. Her erect nipples looked nice.

"The sun is going to dry your skin out if you don't take care of it."

"I need the vitamin D."

"Are you three going to make it to Christmas?"

"Yes."

"Honey...how much do you know about any of our babies inheriting your powers?"

"I know."

"What do you know?"

"It is unlikely that Sam or Amy's babies will inherit more than what you have."

"What about your baby?"

"My baby will have more."

"Like you?"

"Yes. Being one-quarter Cherokee is about as far as it can go, and still have what I have. I always thought I was lucky when I thought I was only one-quarter Cherokee. Since I have talked to great-grandmother about it, she said as far as my powers are concerned, I am one-quarter Cherokee of that bloodline because my grandfather was not of the bloodline."

"I think you are more Cherokee than just bloodline."

"I am. I understand that now. I have been blessed by the Spirits."

"Are you saying our baby will need to marry Cherokee to keep your bloodline going?"

"I believe so."

"Do you know that far ahead?"

"No. That is not for us to see or determine."

"But it will have at least your powers?"

"I have been told our baby must have my powers. There is no one else to inherit them."

"Then your plans to live on the reservation more will be very important."

"It will. I talked to great-grandfather more the last couple of times I was there about the tribe building a house for us. Those plans are in the works. Next Spring, they will start."

"So soon?"

"Since they will be teaching others, it will take some time. Until then...I will stay with my great-grandparents when we are there."

"And you are planning on spending time there as soon as you can?"

"Yes."

"When can babies fly?"

"Dr. Emma said I cannot fly any longer because the air pressure changes can possibly induce labor. She said babies can fly as soon as they are nursing strongly. She said to let them nurse while flying so it will help their ears clear and not to fly any higher than needed at first. So, you will be doing the flying."

"Good idea. Have you told the nanny prospects they will be flying and traveling with you?"

"Yes."

"What did they say?"

"They thought it would be interesting," Dawn said and giggled.

"Honey, are you okay? You have been a little short-answered with me today?"

"I'm fine, honey. Sorry, I have been preoccupied."

"Anything I can help with?"

"I have been thinking about changes. I am wondering how much I will be able to commit to the university. It may not be enough. They are well underway on the new building and all that."

"We will have nannies."

"I mean later. It is going to be important for me to spend more time on the reservation after next year."

"I know you are planning on spending a lot of time in the Summers there."

"It will be more than that."

"Why?" I asked because I knew something was troubling Dawn.

"I will just need to be there more."

"Are you going to tell me why?"

"Great-grandfather's time is coming. He still has much to teach me."

"Oh. Then you will need to be there more."

Dawn looked at me and smiled.

"Will that be too much for you if I am gone more?"

"Of course not, honey. I will be with you, too," I told her.

"You have commitments to the university now, too."

"In a year or so, I will have people trained for that job. I will just supervise occasionally."

"I guess I need to start thinking about that too."

Dawn reached over, and I took her hand and held it.

"Grandmother will be with me too when I am there."

"Good. Do you want anything?"

"I'm fine."

I got up and leaned over and kissed her, then went into the house, leaving her to her thoughts.

*****

While I was making lunch, Amy came home.

"How was school?" I asked when she came to the kitchen.

"Okay. Walking from the parking lot is starting to be a bit of work. I'll need to go pick up sis later."

"I can take you and drop you off?"

"Oh, no! I mentioned that to Dawn, and she said the walk was good for us. Don't mention it to her. In your new job, though...you could recommend pregnant parking like they have at stores."

"I guess that happens now," I said and laughed.

"Is Dawn outside again?"

"Yes."

"I'll go join her."

"Let her be for now."

"Why?"

"She has been distracted today."

"That seems to be common lately."

"I think she has a lot on her mind. She is thinking about needing to be on the reservation more in a year or so."

"Oh?"

"Yes."

Amy climbed on a bar stool and sat.

"You want a salad too?"

"Please."

After I made the salads and Amy began eating, I went out to Dawn.

"Are you ready for lunch?"

"Sure."

"Let me help you up."

I pulled Dawn up and put my arm around her.

"Don't you get cold out here?"

"No, it feels good and is good for us."

"If you say so."

We went in, and she sat next to Amy.

"What is that stone?" Amy asked.

"Damera gave it to me. He said to wear it until I give birth. It is a special stone that will help the baby inherit my powers."

"Probably don't need that."

"Every little thing helps."

"Dawn? What about my baby?"

"You and Sam..." Dawn said and paused.

"What?"

"You and Sam's babies will probably inherit all that James has...at least."

"No more?"

"That much...at least."

"What determines how much?"

"Our blood...and how much the baby wants to inherit?"

"How much it wants to inherit?"

"I have told you two that before a baby of ours is born, the Spirits will communicate with it and ask."

"So, nothing is for certain then?"

"For you and Sam...no."

"But you?"

"I have already seen it."

"And?"

"Unless my baby refuses...it will have my powers...at least."

"Could it have more?"

"Yes."

"Damn."

"My great-grandfather is still stronger than I am, honey."

"But won't you get stronger as you get older?"

"Yes. But..."

"But what?"

"Boys inherit one type of power...girls inherit a different type. They are similar...but different."

"But you know which?"

"Yes."

"So, one line of the powers will not be passed on?" I asked.

"That could be one outcome."

"What other course could there be, honey?" I asked.

"There are paths I do not see."

"But you know?"

"Yes."

"And that is all I am going to get...isn't it?" I asked.

"Yes."

"Maybe you need to have another baby!" Amy exclaimed.

"That is one possible path," Dawn said with a smile.

"Oh no!" I exclaimed, and they laughed.

"Come on, James! Wouldn't you want a boy and a girl!" Amy teased me.

"Yes, but..."

The two of them laughed. Dawn looked at me and smiled.

"Don't get any ideas, Dawn!"

"We'll see!" She said and laughed.

"I think I am going to have to talk to your Grandmother!"

"She won't tell you anything!"

"Speaking of Enolia. When do you want her here, and how is she going to get here? Will I need to drive there and pick her up?"

"We do own a helicopter...as you keep reminding me!"

"You think she would fly?"

"Sure. She flies all the time..."

"I'm not going to touch that!" I said, and Dawn laughed.

Dawn was always telling me stories about Enolia and her great-grandparent's spirits flying around...without a plane. She wouldn't tell me much about her doing it.

"Honey? Why didn't Enolia inherit all the powers you have?"

"She has many. She just was not raised and educated as I have been. It took me years to train and cultivate what I have."

"Why not?"

"It wasn't her time. The Spirits tell us when it is time to train the next generation. Grandmother would be too old when it is time. I will be training the next generation of medicine people."

"Our child?"

"Yes."

When we finished eating, I dropped the bowls in the sink.

"I wish I could get in the hot tub. My back is killing me," Amy said as she stood and stretched.

"James will rub my cream on it."

I spent a lot of my time now rubbing feet and backs. Samantha always had me rubbing her feet...until I made her have an orgasm a week ago doing it, and she pissed on herself. Now, she made Amy rub her feet.

*****

Dawn had gone upstairs while I rubbed Amy's back.

"James? Would you want to have another child? Maybe to have a boy and a girl?"

"Honey, let's get through this one first."

"But would you consider it?"

"I guess."

"I wonder what will happen if Dawn has a girl and sis or I have a boy? Do you think he could inherit Dawn's powers?"

"I guess it is possible."

"Hmm..."

"You know Dawn's plans for living on the reservation much more in the future. Is that something you will want your child to do?" I asked.

"Is that what you would want for all our children?"

"If that is what they wish to do. I wouldn't force it on any of them."

"That will be their heritage. If that is what they want, then they can."

"Will you and Samantha be okay with them being away from here for months?"

"It will be an incredible opportunity for our children. I'm sure we can go some, too."

"It's something you two need to think about."

"We have some time."

"I'm not sure how much. I think Dawn is planning on being there with babies as soon as they can fly."

"She said her Grandmother made sure that Ann took her when she was a baby."

"Did she say why?"

"I think a lot of it is ceremonial."

"I'll have to talk to Ann."

"Good luck. I asked Dawn about it, and she said it was just part of the traditions, and that was it."

"I have a feeling we are going to learn a lot more about some of the traditions."

"I think you are right. Our children will have an incredible opportunity."

"A couple of redheaded Cherokee will be odd!"

"We don't know about that yet," Amy said.

*****

Amy was in the den working on her computer when her phone rang, and she answered it.

"That was Sam. I need to go pick her up."

"I'll go get her," I said. "Is she at the library?"

"Yes."

"When Dawn comes down, tell her where I went."

"Okay."

I went and got in the Escalade and headed to the university. I parked in front of the library and called Samantha. A few minutes later, she came out.

"Did you get all you needed?"

"So far. I think I have it all now. Will I have to write papers all the time in med school?"

"Probably not. It is the harder classes you are taking more than anything right now."

"Next semester, I will only be taking Anatomy and Chemistry. I am going to do what you suggested and just take those two classes since they are the second semester of each. That will still be 8 hours."

"I think that will be a good idea."

"Did you know Dawn took a year of Organic Chemistry?"

"Yes. She took a lot of extra classes in chemistry."

"I guess that is why she knows so much about the things she mixes up."

"I think it helps her understand what she learned on the reservation and how she can modify it. She is pretty smart when it comes to Chemistry. She even took a couple of graduate-level pharmacology chemistry classes while in grad school that doctors and pharmacologists take."

Samantha and I talked until we got to the house. I helped her out, and we went inside.

"Hi, honey," Dawn said.

"Hey."

"Did you finish?"

"Maybe."

Samantha tossed her books and computer on the sofa and sat and kissed Dawn.

"I'm tired."

"You'll get a break this week," I told her.

"Not much if I don't get this paper typed up."

"You three want anything from the kitchen?" I asked.

"Some water, please," Samantha asked.

I went to the kitchen and grabbed some bottles of water and went back.

"How much do you still have to type?" I asked.
