This story started out on a TIME line of events. Then the TIME line was lost loosing all the potency of Jesse's acts - the story lost context as to severity UNTIL a relative TIME line was semi-reestablished with 'Jane having kids.'

Wow, this was pretty bad. This author must have really taken a bath in his divorce. Writing a story is one thing, going to extremes to make the wife look bad is another. It’s very clear the author has absolutely zero knowledge of postpartum depression. Leads me to believe he never had kids. Writing a story simply because you hate women and want to see them all in jail says more about the author than anything else.

Clearly a case of postpartum depression at the first. You cannot help someone that does not want help. Postpartum can last up to a year after birth, and from the timeline, it may have started with postpartum but she just developed into an uncaring bitch. By the tricycle accident and Jane’s ability to talk, we can infer that she is at least 4 years old. So for those blaming postpartum, timelines don’t fit. Just like a buried fossil that is slowly uncovered by the gentle rains, the pregnancy and subsequent child care stripped away her veneers to reveal the true bitch she was.

A very confusing story, Skippy47 has said that Lance got all parental duties but breastfeeding while saying Jessie refused to that, a special bonding practice that’s been around forever. One thing all the "writers" should brush up on is that men get the kids on a far more often basis than one would think by reading all the "Ill have a boyfriend move in, you'll lose your kids, youll pay child support, alimony, pay for the house the bills, my condoms, blah blah blah"

There was a bones of a story here and I realize it was deliberately made to be short, but as a result it felt rushed and incomplete. Also, how old is the child? It says in the story "she was too young to swallow pills", yet in the description it sounds like she is going to school and the way she talks is not an infant.

Like others I kind of get tired of stories that talk about the husband never seeing the child (the one day a month myth), or that husband could never get custody. In a case like this the judge would question the child likely to find out about how she saw the mom and would also likely question them both to see who was the caregiver. Given the circumstances it would be pretty likely that he would get custody. If the state allowed for adultery to be used in the divorce, it also would cost her. Divorce laws are crappy, but they aren't that draconian. In most cases unless the father has something wrong with him he will get shared custody, not her get full and him visitation.

I also quite honestly find Jesse to be unbelievable, she is a caractiture. Yes, I have seen bad mothers, heard about women who didn't care about their kids it seemed, but Jessie is beyond the pale with the way she is with the child, it just doesn't come off right. I can see a mother who is neglectful even a lot of the time, but this? Even the most pole up their ass victorian upper class mother had more compassion than this, they would be loving in between cuckolding their husbands.

Author, stop writing about "alimony" because you know nothing about the subject. No court would have awarded any such thing in this case, and in any event it would not cancel the right to child support because alimony and maintenance are typically awarded for no more than 2 or 3 years.

This story is very real, many cases have come forward where women have given children "Sleepy Juice" usually coke+rum+opioid. & surprisingly the law was ambivalent at best as there were other charges accompanying such cases that did met out some form of justice.

Stupid, formulaic story. So the ex-wife in prison begs forgiveness, wants to make amends and the ex-husband absolutely shits on her? The wife's reaction to motherhood sounds like a mental disorder or other psychiatric condition, which are known to happen after childbirth in rare cases. Plus the husband's callous reaction doesn't altogether square with his loving attitude towards his child. So he has a new wife, and doesn't want her as a live-in. But he could forgive her the past (perhaps conditionally), help her out but not in his new married household, help her back on her feet with the parole official, and give her limited access to make amends to the daughter. This story could have been made much, much more interesting.

It's an okay story, but the trope of "I'll get screwed in the divorce" really needs to die. It's not the 1950's dude. They've barely been married a few years, that means no maintenance/alimony and since the Dad was obviously the primary caregiver, he'd get the custodial rights over the daughter and the wife would have to pay the child support. There's also no "she gets the house" rule either - the house is an asset and the court can only allocate a percentage of ownership in it, not just give it someone and that percentage is going to be typically 50/50 - if you don't want to pay half the mortgage on a house you don't live in, then just force it to be sold. Hell, you can even keep contributing and have it put in a court order that the house has to be sold in the future and profits split. Think of it as a 10 to 15 year investment plan.
