Now THAT was a gem! Exactly what a 750 word flash should be able to do! Bravo!

This was cute--- even a little funny. but not realistic. In the eyes of the law that is THEIR money not hers. They're married, he would've gotten half of the winnings. Cause she won it during marriage. There was a lady that won the lottery and didn't tell her husband. She just filed for divorce and thoughts he didn't have to give her ex husband anything. Well when she went to go cash in her ticket, her ex found out, dragged her ass back into court and the judge awarded the husband all the money. Cause he considered what she did was trying to hide money from her ex. Most judges don't like when folks try to scam the other using the court system.

Clever! Sure, beats the clichéd car in the driveway.

As soon as she finds out she will be right back. There was no divorce here. If Jimmy was prepared to pay her way, she would have already left. Seriously, though, that was what she was counting on all these years?

It was amusing, though, and she has outed herself.

Different take on the challenge but it’s a fun one! Really nice job!

AnonymousAnonymousabout 2 years ago

I love to see the follow up when she learns she didn’t win.

AnonymousAnonymousabout 2 years ago

Best 750 ever. Me and a friend pulled this exact ruse on another friend. Left him "wow" for a day. Then he realizzed after we told him to verify the numbers. He was pissed then we took him out and paid for a great time. He was stilled pissed but with a smile on his face.

AnonymousAnonymousabout 2 years ago

Very nice. Very nice indeed. A solid 4. Some have commented they'd like to see what happened when Isla realizes it was a hoax. I think it's better left as it is. And nice crossover between St. Patrick's and April Fool's.

Funny and concise. Liked the idea that her lover's same was Jimmy Riddel, a name I haven't heard of for years but years ago in UK it was slang for having a piss as in "I'm just off for a Jimmy riddle"

AnonymousAnonymousabout 2 years ago

Very clever. But wouldn't he be entitled to HALF of any lottery winnings in the divorce? And it's impossible to get a divorce that quickly so wouldn't she, when she finds out that she didn't win, come crawling back saying she knew it was an April Fool's Joke and that she wanted to play along with it and get the better of him with her own joke? Just to insure she got her fair share in the divorce? Funny story.

AnonymousAnonymousabout 2 years ago

A classic short! Well done!

AnonymousAnonymousabout 2 years ago

Extremely clever and quite easy to do actually. Also so far this is the only good story in this event

WhoGivesAShitWhoGivesAShitabout 2 years ago

Damn good April fool’s trick!

Might have been better, if he’d let her find out from the lottery people, when she argued that she’d won. Then serve her the next day.
