Good work, and please take your time writing the story, don't get caught in between school and hobby writing - everything would suffer that way.

Don't rush it, don't push it, use it as a relaxation for school, I know what I'm talking about (but then again don't get too distracted).

Beyond that, nice story, nice development, I like Estemere's character, even if I have some problems understanding some of the more detailed ways of your magic (the dualing the two did - 'he channeled his attacks trough his body, which surprised E., [but then was answered with equal attacks]' - did the older mage just reflect them where he launched his attacks from or what did happen there?
