One word for this story. Pathetic. You do know this is a sex story site right? I have no idea why stories like this are even allowed here. No sex, what is the point. Simply outstanding short one...keep on writing...you remind me of Hemmingway's "Hills like White Elephants" in which he writes the story...strips it down to bare bones...then discards as many bones as possible and then publishes it. What is left is a 3-4 page concise tale absolutely packed with symbolism and multiple levels of meaning... Your first effort is simply a joy to read... Great, I recently discovered one of your stories and immediately read all the others, all very good reads that I enjoyed. Not quite BTB, but all have varying levels of payback where the cheating wives get their just deserves and realize too late their exes were their best life before they blew it up.

Doesn't need to be revenge on the supervisor, the dude is just done, but I would like to see the fallout of the marriage counselor and how things fall out in divorce court. See if she was named in their divorce, maybe even having her ex-husband to the stand or something, thus to show why she is unfit to be a counselor. And to the Anonymous whining about no sex, so far, from what I have seen a good majority have no interest in seeing a cheating spouse get away with things. Hint to those gathering tar and feathers for the counselor: despite what you might believe, counseling doesn't consist of them waving a magic wand and POOF! everything fixed in a single meeting. WTF did Jack expect the counselor to do at the single session he missed to stop Traci from cheating? POOF? As he himself said, you can't make rules for adults. There's absolutely no evidence to support the counselor even knowing about the cheating, much less condoning it; she's surprised by the photo when Jack shows it.

The counselor might be incompetent, might be great but we the reader have no way of knowing . . . and neither does Jack, nor the hoards of indignant commenters. The author might know, but despite Jack's whinnying, didn't do a good job of showing it.

5 stars.. great story and Jack was right there is no need to say the consequences Traci shouldnt worry about them if she stays faithful. Traci cheated Karen cheated and now both those women got divorced, lifes too short to stay with a cheating scumbag.

The ending line sums up the character of the slut wife perfectly. She’s sorry that she got caught. She’s a child in an adult body. She should never gotten married to begin with. Unfortunately, due to feminism, and other social degeneration over the past 60 years, young women are now significantly less mature than men if the same age.

The rising generation of young men should avoid women and marriages like the plague, unless they are members of a very strict religion. Orthodox Jews, Fundamentalist Muslims, some Evangelical Christians, and Temple worthy Saints raise women who are worth the risk.

Well written story. The story line was superb. It is a shame the main character traded his marriage for a gotcha.

One of my favorite sayings in life: "Fuck Around and Find Out". Jack warned her - did he not? He told Traci that there would be consequences. She just chose not to believe him. Or, she figured that forgiveness would be obtainable from Jack. Just reading the words of Jack as written, told me he was a logical, no nonsense guy. But Traci was completely infatuated with her affair partner and her brain was clouded by lust. Traci was able to rationalize everything in her own mind - regardless of the reality of the world around her. She came up with logical reasons to justify her behavior well before the actual sex took place. Jack could have literally been yelling at Traci through a megaphone and she would have never heard his words. Score 5/5 BRB

Excellent story... How about an epilogue:

It took Karen almost an hour to get Traci under control emotionally. She walked her to her car in the lower level parking garage. As they approached Traci's car a white van pulled alongside them slowing to a crawl but not stopping. The door flew open and both women were tossed into the back. By the time the van exited the garage the women were bound and gagged and the three men in the back were already pawing them all over. The meanest looking one smirked and said. "Putas, let me read you a note from Jack. "Dear cheating skank sluts. I'm chuckling thinking the two of you believe you're going to just get on with your lives. I'm sure Traci is already thinking of ways to fuck me over in the divorce so I have a confession. I didn't tell you everything included in the FAFO. This is the other half. Traci, I sold you to a Mexican cartel that owns several whore houses in Tijuana. By this time tomorrow you'll be working for them. I'm told you'll have between 8-12 clients a day. Hopefully that will help satisfy your whore mouth, pussy and ass. I got a pretty good price. 10K for you. They assure me they will make ten times that amount before you are used up. I enjoy you as my submissive fuck toy, but marriage? You must be crazy." Traci burst into tears. "I thought you loved me you bastard. You tell me you love me all the time. What have I done?" "Well" her boss replied, "You're a great fuck Traci, but you're dumb as a rock. Of course I tell you what you want to hear because you have a sweet pussy and you give it out freely. You're a slut woman, not marriage material. Quite frankly, if I was your husband, I do a hell of a lot more than divorce you. Sorry babe, but this fling has run its course. An anonymous source alerted a local TV station to the connection between counselor Karen and now infamous Traci. She lost her practice and moved away.

I highly recommend this 'first' story by a new author.

For a 'first published' story it was excellent.

I liked the fact that there were no surprises. The author defined the characters so well it was clear what each was thinking, and the characters stayed true to form.

For a short story the plot had the proper level of complications. The editing seemed well done. The story was entertaining. I am a fussy reader. All things considered, I gave the story a 5. That is not suggesting it is Hall of Fame quality, just an excellent first attempt.

I liked it because the husband was true to his word: he said there would be consequences and there were consequences. I have recently read a story in which the husband boasted about not putting up with cheating and that "one and done". But was he true like the husband in this story? Certainly not. He put up with a big cheating, disrespect and betrayal from his wife. It was a version of February Sucks, so, if you know that story you know what cheating, betrayal and disrespect I'm talking about.

But it was worse than that, he had arrived that night having accepted the cheating from his wife during several GNOs. So "One and Done". Ha! I felt that the author of that story was trying to pull the reader's leg. A really horrible story.

I thank this author for a great and coherent story. 5* from me.

However, this is another of these stories with the wise super competent husband and the wife as a hopeless person, totally transparent with no redeeming characteristics. The difference is you exaggerated all the people, including the therapist, into two dimensional non-people. You broke the first obligation of a writer - to create real people.

Is there ever a story with a Traci that isn't a cheating slut? I've yet to find one. Less than an hour after counseling she was already at the motel with the guy? Yikes.

This puts me in mind of high school counselors. You know, those people who do their best in urging you to do the things they’ve never done.

The story earned 5 stars for the relatively dry humor of the husband. The arc of the story was obvious, but still entertaining.

As an aside... I'm curious why most of the loving wives stories where infidelity is involved that it's almost always the wife doing the cheating. I don't know, but would guess the reality is somewhere near 50 - 50 in the being unfaithful in husband vs wife. Could it be that the majority of readers here are men and we would prefer to see women being unfaithful more than men? Any thoughts?

I believe that the category is loving wives and therefore it is about unfaithful wives/partners just by definition. Depending on the author or story, sometimes it’s actually welcomed as erotic and for others as the basis of either an emotional trip for revenge, reconciliation, or somewhere in between with high stakes emotionality.

I suspect you’re right about the cheating. I believe that cheating is more prevalent in men than women, but most of these are self-reporting studies and there are issues with that. But I suspect that the gap will close, though I think the cheating is for different reasons.

If I’m to speculate, I’d say that LW has the highest male readership proportion of all categories, but romance is probably more female driven. I do believe that both categories appeal to the readership as a whole.

Romance seems to focus of what I am guessing may appeal to women in general (redemption, abandonment, tenderness/care, empathy, emotional/physical safety). As a male, I feel as though I’m being too broad and am happy to be corrected. In contrast, LW often engages with tropes of common male anxieties (paternity, partner sexual gratification, economic standing [wife leaves for rich guy/boss], victimization).
