Barry, you have a beautiful writing style, and this story develops in a way that is understandable. Of course, it needs a sequel. It seems that Robert and Henri were at university together, which suggests that Lara is not quite young either. I would like it better if Lara was well under 30, Robert could be younger then by the way. Robert's father and Henri could also have studied together. Since a dominant personality does not fall from the sky, there also needs to be an explanation why Henri only develops into a DOM at an advanced age. Conceivable would be that Henri was forced in the last years to bring his increasingly demented father under control.
