You need to proof read better to not confuse the reader. Michael becomes Malcolm then back to Michael again. Then a new Malcolm appears different from Michael. This is easy to do but sometimes hard to catch. Also, please keep 3rd person throughout the story, you switched it to first person at the end which was strange.

Not a bad story overall, strange place to end it though. A car ride home conversation would have helped it along and would have been interesting. Spend more time on showing the reader how the characters are feeling. If it's a transition of a husband who slowly learns swinging is fun, add more things along the way to show how he comes to change his point of view. Does this experience make them closer? You paint Maura as a very cold character who is self absorbed and gives no fucks about her husband with her take it or leave it attitude. Perhaps her seeing her husband getting some female attention would take her down a few notches and she would become more human and likeable. I leave this story not knowing what you set out to accomplish.

This story just reinforces the formula for a broken marriage. The wife cheats. She likes how it made her feel. She convinces her husband to let her continue...'with his participation' of course. She needs more than he can provide after all. They join a group. She finds gold. He falls down the shaft. James is irrelevant now in Maura's mind and eyes.
