I actually laughed out loud at the concept of effeminate Scots in kilts having to beware of the randy short-sighted. And as for Gladstone telling God what to do... Another five-star history lesson as it should be taught in the more broad-minded and un-PC educational establishments.

(When I was about 15-16 somebody at school wrote a five or six verse poem about shenanigans in parliament. After all these years I can only remember a few lines but here are a couple of samples: "Sir Winston was there with V-sign and topper/and Barbara Castle was squeezing his chopper" and "Hugh Gaitskell in a slashing attack on MacMillan/ said you've shagged them all you lecherous villain". The final line was "There's plenty of crumpet and cock in Westminster". Plus ca change...)

This story is becoming more intriguing and fascinating. Kate and Frances are fabulous.
