Good read.

A well-written story, realistic and totally credible.

(The centred text on Page 1 was irritating.)

I do love a hanging story, but I also love resolution in a second part ;-)

A Beautiful Love Story

This is perhaps your best work so far. I hope you plan to add more chapters to this story.

- Oops, I see what you mean. I forgot to close the html-bracket after the heading. I'll fix it and repost. Thanks for telling me, and I'm so happy you still liked the story ❤️

A good story -- dare I say "love"?

I think this could become a love story, even though Nicholas seems a bit reluctant. He does care for Maya, and they do fit together rather well. Does sexy Nicholas, the very desirable dark-haired handsome man, have a bit of sexy dark hair for his masculine chest? That would make him even sexier for Maya! Please write more!

I like these characters, and this story. Would love to hear more. 5*

This is such a lovely story! There can definitely be a sequel. I got the feeling Nicholas has the kind of love for Maya that she has for him. No one can appreciate or love either of them the way they do each other.

There are always two sides

We known her feelings and what she was thinking...now lets have his, even if it's from the aftermath perspective. What happens next?

Well.. different but very well written Ada: I want to read more, as I sense more drama to come. Is this a teaser? Hehe. If it is please do continue.

"SisterJezabel: I do love a hanging story, but I also love resolution in a second part ;-)"

- I totally agree with you there 😀 And I have some ideas as to what happens next, but they were too blurry to come down on paper. Yet 😀

"jsmangis: A Beautiful Love Story

This is perhaps your best work so far. I hope you plan to add more chapters to this story."

- Really? Wow, thanks ❤️😁 I tend to go completely blind as to whether it's good or bad when I write. So, I'm very pleased to hear that. Still, you can probably thank my editors and beta readers this time ❤️ They make all the difference.

"Angie314: More please!!!!"

- Thanks, Angie314 😁 And don't worry. I felt bad about not giving them a happy ending, so yes, there will be more - as soon as I figure out what happens 😀

"Gibbo68mustang: Great story

Really enjoyed this but you can't leave us hanging! Part 2 please. 😁"

- Aww, thanks ❤️ And yes, there will be more. This time, the ending didn't come rushing into my head as it often does. But I know that it helps just to let it rest for a while and then it will be better than a rushed version. Haha, we'll see - I'll let you decide when we get there 😁

"RoRo13: Part 2

Well written and well paced just like your other stories. Can we have a continuation pls?"

- Wow, thanks 😁 And yes, there are a few more scenes on my computer so there will be a happily ever after to this one also. But I have a book to publish first before I return to this one ❤️

"Anonymous: Great

Very intense. Keep it up."

- Thanks, I will 😁 And thanks for noticing 😀 This story is a bit different from what I normally write, so it's more an attempt of developing and improving. Well, "trial and error", I guess you can call it, right? 😁

- Haha, you caught me there 😁 And yes, there is a love story underneath it all. I just have to dig it up first - and that will probably mean that the story will increase a lot more than I first intended. I'm hopeless with writing short stories, LOL. Oh, and thanks for reminding me about his chest hair. I'll fix that, thanks ❤️😁

"Anonymous: love

She needs and loves him.Make him see that"

- Oh, he'll figure it out ❤️ Actually, this story took quite a different turn than the original idea. But, it's always much more fun when that happens 😁

"Anonymous: More!

Very well written. Please continue the story!"

- Thanks 😁 But that's mostly because of my editors. They helped me a lot with this story and made it readable ❤️😁😀

"Boyd Percy: Great beginning! 5"

- Thank you so much ❤️ I'm so happy that you liked the story, and yes, there will be more to this one 😀

"Schöner Beginn einer turbulenten Liebesgeschichte

- Haha, so true ❤️😁 I also prefer a story to end in happily ever after. It was quite strange to leave it hanging, but at the time, it felt better to leave it, than to add a rushed ending filled with plotholes😳 😁

"Monagamous_Now: I like these characters, and this story. Would love to hear more. 5*"

- Thanks, I'm so happy you liked it 😀 I struggled for a long time to prevent Nicholas from getting too creepy so I'm glad that I might have succeeded. 😃

"Anonymous: This is such a lovely story! There can definitely be a sequel. I got the feeling Nicholas has the kind of love for Maya that she has for him. No one can appreciate or love either of them the way they do each other."

- Absolutely 😀 They have a strange sort of relationship since they grew up together, - which means I have to stretch myself further as a writer and include aspects I wouldn't normally consider. But, I like the challenge - even if it's scary since I don't know whether I can make it work or not 😀

"dragonsbain: There are always two sides

- Wow, that's a fantastic idea! I seem to have forgotten that completely. Thank you so much for reminding me ❤️😁 And you're so right: that would make the story even more interesting 😁

"luv_romance: Well.. different but very well written Ada: I want to read more, as I sense more drama to come. Is this a teaser? Hehe. If it is please do continue."

- So true, luv_romance 😀 It is different, and it's posted in a category I've never tried before. That was actually a coincidence. I had some stains on the sheet, I needed to explain (uhm, well, now you know how little I plan ahead when I write, LOL).

And yes, it might have turned out to be more of a teaser than I thought it would. I was aiming for the HEA, but I tried to avoid writing something so sappy that you would rather vomit than read it. Haha, I'm using Stephen King's advice this time: 'let it rest for a few weeks, then I'll pick it up again'. Hopefully, the quality will then be something I won't feel embarrassed about 😀

Nice. In fact, very nice!

You kept it moving. You WILL continue this story!

The blond guy she liked at the beginning of the party will reappear.

The absence of a condom will occur to someone?

The most fun is her cat-that-swallowed-the-canary banter.

Keep that throughout all your story developments!

Fun! More, please!

If anyone can..

See if you can make it work? Not be embarrassed? If anyone can give this a story the ending it deserves, it is you! Your other writing here is so strong, characters so compelling, resolutions so satisfying. We'll just have to be patient, which is so much easier knowing that you are moving this tale forward. Can't wait!... but will.

"Can’t wait to read more!!!!"

- Thank you so much, Ginger630 ❤️ And I heartily agree with you that it needs a proper ending. It was actually on my tasklist to start writing that HEA. But yesterday my latest eBook suddenly went straight to the best seller lists on Amazon, so everything is a bit hectic right now. And I guess I have to write another Wolf shifter story instead. But don't worry, I will get to this one during the Winter holidays, I hope ☃️ 😁

It took me a lot longer than I planned, but I've finally finished this story and given it the happily ever after I wanted it to have. So, if you're curious you can find the book with the new title "Stepbrother" on both Amazon and Smashwords. I've added links on my author page. Or you can check it here: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09H7RGYB6

I'm so pleased with the cover though. It turned out just the way I've always imagined Nicholas would look.

Wonderful story. How could anybody find fault with your work? You are simply the best...

AnonymousAnonymousalmost 2 years ago

Nicholas is a whining, controlling piece of shit every bit as bad as all the guys he kept scaring off. Zero sympathy for him as a character.

I really enjoyed this story. I was really looking forward to reading the rest but it cost money. It really felt like I was set up to get my money because in order to read the rest you have to pay for it on other websites. which is kind of annoying because why start the story on this website to just lead people on. I mean I guess it works out for you.

Honestly, this story was only intended to be a short one. But then readers kept asking me questions about it and I started updating it. I could have published the updated version here, but I decided not to. For two reasons:

1. The updated version was longer and quite different from the original. If I posted it here, I would have dividided it into several chapters instead of a long one

2. I never post longer stories to Lit after what happened to "Lessons in Love"

The last point was the most important. "Lessons in Love" It was illegally copied from Lit and published on Amazon the day after I published ch9 on Lit. It wasn't even finished and it wasn't even completely edited. Still, someone managed to find it and steal it. I stopped writing after that. I might find it fun to publish stories for free and meet new readers, but I'm not so generous that I enjoy filling someone else's pockets when I've spent months working on a story.

So, I still publish on Lit, but I'm very reluctant to post stories that might be stolen. You could say that a few people have ruined it for the rest of us since I'm not the only author that finds my stolen works published on other sites.

That said, I never thought it would pay off to publish my stories myself, but thanks to the thief of "Lessons in Love", I was so pissed that I gave it a try. And yes, it does pay off. Not so much in the amount of money I earn, but because my books have my penname on their cover and not someone else's.

AnonymousAnonymousover 1 year ago

Awful end. Nicholas never acted like her brother and a pity she couldn't share her feelings with her money hungry parents and Nicholas
