It was an okay start. But what is this fascination with ending a story before it really gets rolling? Too many authors on here have that bad habit. At times it can be done well but that takes much practice so the reader does not get to the end only to be disappointed. A better idea might be to post Chapter 1 and then right away Chapter 2. Write them both before posting the first part. This way the reader can know if you are serious about the story or just putting it out there and waiting for comments before supplying more chapters.
