I think the issue I had with with is story, and the author’s other story, is the lack of conclusion. The stories kind of just stop, rather than end.

It struck me as the program content of one of those awful daytime TV shows when everyone is confronted by their transgressions in the full glare of public opinion, ie the various shocked and angry responses posted already.
