I couldn't end this chapter on a high note, really. Things are still incredibly stuff, however it was important to resolve volume 1 with at least some very, very faint hope. Liam had a chance to feel a bit more "in control" which, for him, is still tied much more to the idea of "Liam" than "Leah". The two still feel a bit like split personalities in his mind, rather than something unified. Getting the chance to give Ellie oral was originally not something I was going to do until ages later into the story. It felt right, here though. Liam was eager to prove himself and to feel better about himself. That's not to say the affects of Anna are completely resolved, and that things won't crop up again. However it is to say Liam can find ways, in the right circumstances, where this stuff can feel ok for him. I think that gives him a lot of relief, here.

Look, generally I just really, really appreciate those of you still reading this series. It was natural a lot of the readers fell away. It's natural any story doesn't completely appeal to everyone. Who ever reads a story they're 100% happy with every element of? All the same, that makes those of you still here feel even more special. It makes me even more passionate about this little passion project of mine. I feel really, really excited about where the story can lead next. We've still rarely seen much to who Ellie is deep down, there's still what happens with Liam's parents, Anna...there's a not-so-subtle hint this chapter that The Bryner Club might become something important. Also some other stuff that hasn't cropped up at all yet beyond some very, very vague hints. I still need to really get a plan in place for all of volume 2 so don't expect any more chapters for a little while yet. I'll leave updates about how things are going, though. I'll also do something or rather with the revised edition of volume 1.

Until then, let me know what you think of this chapter or anything else. We'll see what the future holds very soon.

Serra.

@SerraShades you made me very interested in the story of Liam/Leah and Ellie, but I don't know if I could call her friend Ellie, but there is definitely a person who helped and took care of Liam/Leah. At the same time, they use their dominance, femininity and submissiveness, Liam/Leah's fear of being discovered that she is not a girl physically, because mentally and psychologically, there are many signs of femininity in Liam/Leah. Liam/Leah also shows a submissive attitude towards, for example, Anna or Jo. Is Liam/Leah so submissive, addicted to the dominance of others? What will happen to Liam/Leah? Will he meet his own father and have a conversation between them that will explain why Liam/Leah went to an all-girls school? What about Ellie, and how will things continue at school, on campus, and between them personally?

Will Liam/Leah even try to fight for their own self? Many questions arise and new ones are created whenever I think back to the previous chapters. I am waiting with great impatience and great interest for the further fate of Liam/Leah, where I see myself/ego in his character.

ps. Sorry for any errors and linguistic inaccuracies, I don't speak English.

Best regards, SissyBoy from Warsaw, Poland. 👩🏻‍🦳♀️❤️👧🏻⚧️🧒🏻🍦🧑🏻

I've often refrained from responding to comments because a) there isn't a reply function and b) this is your space to express, mine to listen. I feel like responding too much might undermine that... nonetheless, responding to the 4 comments so far.

Comment 1: "this idea that he was never useless or a person with anxiety until he became Leah, why? This wasn’t the impression I got from reading the series. He seems to be a person with anxiety but with Leah he can express it." Beautifully put. It's now gonna look like I stole it from you when this line of thinking is later explored in the story!

2: he definitely should have called his parents sooner

I made the mistake of trimming some of that down for the sake of wordcount when I shouldn't have, however he does know he is seeing his dad very soon and it absolutely terrifies him.

3: I personally don't necessarily agree with everything said there, but it's still a really thoughtful and insightful comment that raises a lot of very good questions to think about, so thank you. I think they are all important questions for a story like this. I refuse to hint at the outcome, however.

4: I love the use of "Elleah" made me smile! I also think your interpretation is closer to the truth. It's always good to remember these are two 18 year olds. They've known each other a week and, whilst Ellie's past hasn't entirely been made clear, it at least seems neither of them have been in a situation like this before. Neither entirely knows what they feel and are both slowly discovering and trying to wrap their heads around it. That's very counter intuitive to story progression because it means they might somewhat feel a certain way, only to realise a little differently or with more clarity later on. People can be more meandering. In many ways "Understanding Leah" would've been a more fitting title but less catchy. Really, really glad to have so many great comments so quickly this chapter!

This chapter was just the sort of messy and volatile fallout I was hoping for, when the rape was finally disclosed. Really well done! Ellie struggles not to make it about her own feelings; Liam/Leah grows defensive against being pitied; thus their relationship shifts wildly before reaching a new tentative equilibrium. (Of course, almost any friends or lovers that encountered this much trauma within the first week of meeting would self-combust. But "Elleah" are a fated pairing, and I love that for them.)

I usually don't go to bat against other commenters, however I think the first Anon here has misread the shower scene. It is new information that Ellie is somewhat switchy, but that flexibility in no way proves that she's into Liam-as-male. Ellie is a fem dom! Clearly she doesn't view sexual aggression as only masculine.

-

Yes, L/L corrects her from "good girl" to "Liam" and Ellie rolls with it. Yes, there's a very polysemous exchange where L propositions her for PiV sex, she refuses, and when L asks "Do you like to pretend that I'm not..." she dissents. Does Ellie pretend L isn't ""biologically male""? Unlikely. Does she 'pretend' L isn't a boy? I know a few lesbians that, if presented with a feminine skirt-wearing cutie saying "btw I'm totally a guy", would respond "of course, bro" and not lose any sleep over it. Ellie's sexuality might yet conflict with L's gender, but I don't think we're there yet.
