In place of the Life Point counter is the Eye of Wdjat, which contains a glowing yellow meter that measures the user's Ba, as the disk measures life points.

Since summoning monsters drains life force, the losing Duelist faints or dies. It is heavily implied only Mystical Item bearers can use a DiaDhank without being limited by life energy.

"Come forth Mighty Dailabound," Zeera said. A stone tablet released the creature. Dailabound had a half-human body with muscular features along with three horns on the back of its head and the second on the front with different angles. It had a tail with the head of a snake at the end of it, as well as four feathered wings- two on her back and two on her lower torso near the waist. "Attack, Helical Shockwave." Dailabound took the form of a spiral laser and fired at the Pharaoh. The blast knocked her down.

"Mother," Noris shouted. Noris knelt down next to her mother. "I'm not ready to face the world."

"Listen carefully my little one," Pharaoh said. "Trust in yourself. Remember." With that said, Pharaoh Ceila evaporated, heading to the Shadow Realm.

The Shadow Realm was alleged to be a place of suffering where people could be sent to. It was like hell, but much worse because souls could be taken by force.

Noris scowled at Zeera. "You are going to pay for that," she said. "Come forth Obelisk Golem." She summoned the creature from the hidden shrine in the Pyramid. Obelisk was a massive muscular blue-skinned humanoid. Obelisk had simple, triangular wings that were about the same height as Obelisk itself. Obelisk's large shoulder pauldrons had two large spikes protruding vertically, its forearm armor had spikes protruding at the elbows, and its groin and knees were armored with diamond-shaped plates, while a shield-shaped plate covered the posterior. Obelisk's feet were anisodactyl, with three toes in front and a single one behind; its hands were more human, with spiked, sheath-like claws covering its fingertips and small diamond-shaped plates covering the knuckles.

Obelisk's head was covered in spikes; twin spikes jut from its cheeks, long spikes sideways from the back of the head, two from the temples, a short spike on the chin, and a tri-spiked crest on the top of its head. Obelisk's mouth was lipless, with pointed white teeth. Obelisk had red eyes, and the sapphire common to the Egyptian Godesses in its forehead. "Attack, Fists of Fury." Obelisk roared and struck Dailabound. During this conflict, Zeera somehow sealed her own soul within the Mystical Scepter, alongside a portion of Darkon's soul, eventually merging to make a composite entity.

Then, Seta used her Mystical Rod to seal the Dailabound in a tablet. Anipe, and Sera collected their Mystical Items and left. "With Zeera in possession of the Mystical Scepter," Noris said. "We need to find out what she is after." She turned to Isis. "Isis, use your Mystical Necklace and look into the past."

Isis nodded. She tapped into the powers of her Mystical Necklace. "Ancient powers of time," she said. "Open up the gates of the past."

Her eyes closed. She saw visions of the past. She saw the destruction of Zeera's village, and the creation of the Mystical Items. Suddenly, an energy surge struck her, knocking her down.

"Isis," Noris shouted. She ran over to her friend. "We must take her to the river. Follow me." The 9 servants and the Pharaoh headed towards the direction of the Nile River.

During the trip, they battled against countless shadow creatures. They traveled in a palanquin. Isis groaned. Noris knelt down beside her. Pharaoh Noris was wearing the khat of the Pharaoh. She would often wear animal skins, usually leopard or lion, as a sign of her station.

The servants of the Pharaoh each wore a simple sheath dress called a kalasiris. The dresses were held up by one or two straps and were worn down to the ankle, while the upper edge could be worn above or below the breasts.

The length of the dress denoted the social class of the wearer. Beading or feathers were also used as an embellishment on the dress. Over the dress, servants had a choice of wearing shawls, capes, or robes.

The shawl was a piece of fine linen cloth around 4 feet wide by 13 or 14 feet long. This was mostly worn pleated as well.

Nakuri walked over. "My Pharaoh," she said. "How is she doing?"

Noris sighed. "She's breathing, but it's unclear whether or not she will survive the coming battle."

Nakuri nodded. "No matter what happens next," she said. "We are going to be with you my Pharaoh."

Isis grunted as she rose up. She was fully awake.

Suddenly, the cart was slammed by a white blast of energy. The 9 servants and the Pharaoh climbed out of the carriage.

A giant monstrous dragon was roaring at them. "My Pharaoh," Sera said. "It is the Dragon. The Silver Dragon with the blue eyes." The Blue-Eyes Silver Dragon had a light silver body as well as blue eyes.

Seta gasped. "Prepare for battle," she said. "We must protect the Pharaoh." She lifted her arm. "From the depths of the pits, I summon you. Techno Dragon." Techno Dragon was a silver colored dragon.

Sera gasped. She had never seen such pure energy before. "Nakuri," she said. "Use your item."

Nakuri nodded. She could use her Mystical Ring to enter a person's mind, which allowed the wielder to "redecorate" the soul to make anyone their puppet. However, the creature was too strong. Luckily the Pharaoh was able to banish the creature back to the shadows. "That was a close call," Sera said.

Seta nodded. Suddenly, a shadow creature emerged. "You can't stop us," it said.

Seta summoned her Techno Dragon. "Quick Shimona," she said. "Summon your Ancient Swordsman."

"Right," Shimona said. "Ancient Swordsman, come forth." Ancient Swordsman was a woman with pale white skin, green eyes, and blonde hair. She wore a brown hat, and green bikini.

The Ancient Swordsman also carried a blue sword on her back and two daggers on her waist. "Ancient powers of Mystical Key," Shimona said. "Merge these two creatures together."

The two creatures rushed forward together. As they ran, they merged into one single creature. "From the fusion," Shimona and Seta said in unison. "Come forth, Techno Dragon Knight."

The battle raged on. The Shadow creature was strong, but the Techno Dragon Knight was stronger. It had the Ancient Swordsman sitting on the back of the Techno Dragon. It blasted the creature with a wave of energy, called a Cosmic Ray. Eventually, the creature vanished into the darkness.

Noris and her servants finally reached the Nile River. Isis was laid down in the water, allowing her to heal and regain her strength. "How do you feel, my friend?" Noris asked.

Isis sighed deeply. "Much better," she said. "Thank you."

Noris smiled. "It is I who should be thanking you," she said. "Listen carefully, I have a feeling that we won't be able to withstand the coming battle. But I have a plan."

Isis shook her head. "No," she said. "I won't lose you. You're our Pharaoh."

Cecelia looked at the two. She could sense something was wrong. Using her Mystical Eye, she read Noris's mind. She saw that their beloved Pharaoh was going to use a spell to seal the darkness. She asked Karin to use the power of her Mystical Scale to look into the future. Karin did this, but saw nothing.

"Nothing," Sera said. "What does that mean?"

They heard a laugh coming from the shadows. Zeera had returned. "It means I will succeed," she said. "Azarath Metrion Zinthos, come forth Mighty Darkon."

Darkon appeared as a gigantic, purple-skinned demon with huge, curved horns, bat-like wings, and a large dragon/snake appendage between her legs. Darkon was very similar in appearance to Dailabound (albeit far larger and more demonic), which was possibly due to her connection to Queen Zeera. It also had multiple tentacles. With each 'captured' soul, the creature grew stronger.

It impregnated all of Noris's servants, leaving only her alone. "You can't stop what is yet to come," Darkon growled.

Noris placed the Mystical Pendant around her neck and sighed. The Pendant allowed Noris to summon Duel Monsters, including the Egyptian Goddesses. It also granted her intelligence and 'power of darkness'.

Noris scowled at Darkon. "I'm gonna make sure that you never hurt anyone ever again," she said. She tapped into the power of her Mystical Pendant. "By the names of all the Pharaohs that came before me, I'm the Pharaoh Noris. I hereby banish you."

Noris used a spell to seal Darkon away, at the cost of having her own and Darkon's souls sealed into the Mystical Pendant. It then shattered and became the Mystical Puzzle.

Back to present day...

She opened his cell door with the keys taken from the guard's waist.

"Nature is constantly changing," Stryker said. "Like the void of time."

She then used her void bending to defeat and jail all of the other guards. Stryker cautioned them to ration the bowl of rice they had brought her, as the next shift change was three weeks away.

"Such pure energy," Stryker said. She broke free and grabbed the guard. "I feel like I'm a new person. Too bad I don't see a future for you." Using her void tendrils, she impaled the guard. After Superman successfully repelled the attack by the forces of Apokolips, he was convinced that the Justice League's current roster was insufficient to meet the needs for protecting the world at large.

Thus he needed more forces. Superman gives Lex Luthor access to Kryptonian technology that allows him to create a series of pills that would enhance normal human beings into superhuman soldiers to serve in their army.

Batman eventually learns of the pills and stages a break-in into the Fortress of Solitude where the pills are being held and while he succeeds in obtaining a sample, it costs the lives of Captain Atom and Green Arrow. Batman scans the stolen pill and uploads the data to a remote server before Superman can intervene, giving Batman's insurgency the means to manufacture it themselves, thus granting the means to put Batman's insurgency on equal footing with the forces of the Regime.

At that moment, a guard walked over to a cell door and opened it, releasing the prisoner. The guard was then slammed against the wall repeatedly until life left their body.
