Oh yeah! This must be your version of a parable: an earthly story with a heavenly meaning! No sex, no kink, no filth, but yet incredibly enjoyable. You write beautifully, Pixie. I now think of you as a modern day Mary Wollstonecraft. 5 stars, of course.

Thank you so much, Olwen - something a little different xxxxx

You never cease to amaze me Pixie. Every now and then I come upon a piece on here that moves me and 9 times out of 10 I find you as the author.

The skill you have at your fingertips, to share with us your soul, openly, and honestly, moves me. Thank You. xxxxx

The meaning isn't lost to me although I found it strangely disturbing, possibly my own soul torturing me.

Enough of such nonsense, 5 stars.

Those subtle biblical references: the owl hooting 3 times (more suitable for the mood than the rooster in the original story), no prayer for 40 days (ok, fasting in the desert would have been too hard).

How had Annette tempted her? With the promise of a life in her shadow, to be eventually discarded like a tissue. Whom had Emily denied? Only herself.

Notre Dame has been rebuilt since then.

PixiehoffPixiehoff8 months agoAuthor

You penetrate to the heart of this. At a time of despair, a hope was offered to Emily by someone to whom she was drawn. She was offered her own equivalent of the three temptations, and by Grace she was saved. As you say, since then Notre Dame is being rebuilt - and as the ending hints, so had Emily xxxxx

Oh, exquisite. I love that all the kinky sex is in the vision Annette showed her, the temptation, all that could be hers. But she put it behind her and walked back.

And the last line is perfect.

Thank you so much, firm, I am so glad that you appreciated it so much xxxxx

Dr B; Now this is different Pixie, what a twist, brilliant, no sex, just the implication of it, a satanist in Notre Dame of all places and the potential victim saved by her Rosery. This is certainly a new Pixiehoff, a long way from Lady P, a lot closer to the Virginal Vicar and listed under Erotic Horror, damm girl is there no end to your talent. No need to ask, five from me as usual. See my oncologist on Tuesday for the latest check-up, remember HPV is still there, take care. OXOXO

Quite a remarkably powerful bit of erotic horror.

The hair on the back of my neck stood up!

Your talent is on display, as you set it all up and and bring it to a magnificent conclusion in a very short piece.

Excellent!

"By the pricking in my thumbs, something wicked this way comes." As a Gothic aficionado I believe the whole story was oozing a certain hair raising atmosphere. Creepy doesn't do it justice.

Emily escaped and is probably more the wiser, and I am sure she renews her interest in the Christian faith.

Loved it!

Happy All Hallows' Eve (Halloween) 👻🎃🦇 Pixie

Dear Pixie,

First, Happy All Hallows' Eve👻🎃🦇 to you and June.

And this short story “Notre Dame” provides the perfect choice to place this Halloween greeting due to it being your first “Erotic Horror” submission.

I read this story numerous times and thought of the story as a dream because why would anyone place themselves in “Harms Way” by walking through the ruins / rebuild of Norte Dame, when, in thirteen months, (December 2024,) Norte Dame will reopen to the public, and Norte Dame will be fully renovated by 2025.

Luckily, reality set in and reminded me this is only a story plus, in a fiction story, only imagination becomes reality.

I loved this story, because Emily “stretched her boundaries”, by not backing down to her rival Annette, and used her Rosary as an extra energy source to fight off the temptations of Annette and her “three ghostly figures.”

However, earlier today I stopped at our wall clock ⏰🕰 and read the “Footprints in the Sand” poem, printed on the clock, which reads:

One night I dreamed a dream. I was walking along the beach with my Lord. Across the dark sky flashed scenes from my life. For each scene, I noticed two sets of footprints in the sand, one belonging to me and one to my Lord.

When the last scene of my life shot before me I looked back at the footprints in the sand. There was only one set of footprints. I realized that this was at the lowest and saddest times of my life. This always bothered me and I questioned the Lord about my dilemma.

"Lord, You told me when I decided to follow You, You would walk and talk with me all the way. But I'm aware that during the most troublesome times of my life there is only one set of footprints. I just don't understand why, when I need You most, You leave me."

He whispered, "My precious child, I love you and will never leave you, never, ever, during your trials and testings. When you saw only one set of footprints, it was then that I carried you."

So, perhaps, instead of a "stretch my boundaries" exercise, the Lord used this as a “Trial” to “Test” Emily’s faith, which Emily passed, in flying colors, because the Lord either carried or escorted Emily to safety.

I know my interpretation of your story maybe crazy; however, I hope that you and June have a fun, festive, and safe All Hallows' Eve👻🎃🦇 Pixie.

The Cathedral of Notre Dame in the News Today, Pixie

Dear Pixie,

The rebuilding of the Cathedral of Notre Dame made the news today, due to French President Emmanuel Macron, "announced he would put contemporary stained-glass windows in the rebuilt cathedral" verses adding traditional stained-glass windows.

However, "Some critics have argued that replacing stained-glass windows with contemporary works could negatively impact the historical atmosphere and "distort the overall harmony" of the cathedral."

The article goes on to state that "The outlet European Conservative lamented the fact that the diocese – rather than the French state – is pushing for modern touches as the French government pursues the reconstruction of the cathedral."

I know how much the Cathedral of Notre Dame means to you, so I'm just curious on how you feel about this change, Pixie.

Above all, Pixie, I wish nothing but the best for you and June this Wonderful Holiday Season 🎅🎄❄🤶 ⛄ 👼😇💒🙏✨.

LEGO Architecture will release The Cathedral Notre Dame

Dear Pixie,

On June 1st LEGO will release their only Architecture set of 2024.

LEGO's Architectural selection will be The Cathedral Notre Dame.

The Cathedral Notre Dame will be LEGO's largest architectural set of 4383 pieces.

I wrote a comment to LEGO asking, if any of the $ 229.00 cost will go to The Cathedral Notre Dame Restoration Project.

LEGO also waived its policy against making religious sets, because Notre Dame is legitimized by the set's architectural focus on the monument.

I may purchase this set as a Christmas gift for my Sisters' family, since they all love to make puzzles.

Above all, I hope LEGO donates to the The Cathedral Notre Dame Restoration Project.

I wish LEGO's new The Cathedral Notre Dame Restoration architectural set came with healing powers for our beloved Pixie.

Please, Get Well Soon Pixie.

I had somehow missed this little gem, (probably the genre), but better late than never. I can only presume that Annette met an unpleasant fate at the hands of her dark master after failing to ultimately defile such a holy place. (Or maybe Annette was the dark master???) Of course, Annette was destination to fail in her efforts due to Emily’s secret (maybe even to Emily) power of personal faith, inner strength, and intrinsic goodness. Annette never stood a chance of .totally corrupting our Emily. Hourra pour Emily!!! 🍿🍿🍿🍿🍿
