*While helping me with the last chapter, ButteredCrumpet told me she'd like to see Leethie peg, Thom. I shared a fragment I had originally started for Chapter 7 but replaced had with the Night Train story. As a distraction (because writing porn isn't enough of a distraction) we began to finish the story together, both writing at the same time. It was fun and came out so well I decided I wanted to integrate it into this chapter - which was feeling so harsh and unpleasant I was once again thinking of shifting the story to the Nonconsent category or the Anal category (neither of which I have ever spent time in, and what time I have spent, I didn't much enjoy). I think the interlude with Linda is both a much-needed pleasant break but also illuminating. It adds information and depth. I'm really very grateful to BC for making it happen.

slide_fire1over 2 years agoAnother fine collection. Just excellent writing. Very good development of the characters and story line. Very descriptive which conveys more complex emotion of the characters and their interactions. The moving back and forth between timelines and schemes was a bit confusing at times, but overall just really nice work. I tend to think of your writing as a romance novel vs a work of erotic fiction. Granted they are erotic, just not overwhelmingly which is nice. I also like the compassion displayed in your doms. This too is refreshing.

I am sorry to watch Leethie and Miranda’s affair end, but that’s where this was always heading. So a great deal of thought and care went into crafting this. I thought a lot about how much to show and how to show it. But maybe you will email me and tell me more? I’d appreciate it if you would.

I really have to give ButteredCrumpet credit for helping me turn the scene with Linda from an incomplete scrap to easily try favorite part of the chapter. I’m happy that it comes out feeling like my voice, only because that means that, together, we stuck the landing. The point was to write in one voice. BC, however, was the source for Linda’s taste descriptions. We only added the restaurant scene and the food descriptions in after the love scene was in place. I feel it made the flashback into something much richer than it would have been otherwise. I hope she will write more.
I’m sorry if the Thom and Leethie dynamic was jarring. That was entirely my doing, that part of the chapter was a very early decision and was mostly written months ago. Because it is Leethie’s POV it felt like it should be jarring for the reader as well I suppose. But perhaps that points to my limits as an author. We have one more chapter to make sense of her. I’m not sure she will ever really understand herself much less Thom, so exactly what’s happening may remain for the reader’s imagination to fill in.
Anon, not to worry, Leethie won’t be pegging (not in OD anyway), the closest I could get to fulfilling ButteredCrumpet’s wish was showing her Leethie brag about pegging Scott the Texan. I also hope there will be more stories. I’ve really enjoyed sharing this part of myself, I imagine I’ll continue even though I have nothing in mind past the next chapter…
