Ah, a historical romance, one of my favourite genres. An excellent start. Eagerly waiting for more.

Obviously, an excellent start; the plot is a solid foundation. So hoping it evolves to its full potential.

I have read some of your earlier tales, and go back to them from time to time. I am very sorry to hear about the loss of your wife, but pleased that you have come back to us. I lost my wife in 1995, not suddenly but quickly, and I cut myself off from everything for a while. But she had always said what I should do if anything happened to her, and so I still have all my old hobbies, and a second wife.

This story has an excellent start, and leaves me in anticipation of what might follow.
