A research note: Baptists and Presbyterians are Protestant denominations not Roman Catholic. Their churches have ministers and pastors and reverend so-and-so not priests. They never would wear the starched white collar. They would most likely wear a suit to conduct a wedding not a vestment of any kind.

I think that it would be better to have the groom receive a replacement bride when this type of thing occurs or have him take the maid of honor and not the bride
