That was exactly what Darren wanted to hear. He smiled and put the forms away.
Jesse looked back and forth between the two of them, pouting a bit.
"Do I really have to go?"
"Yes, Jesse. Don't worry, it's only for a little bit." Miguel stroked the boy's hair.
"Oh, okay. Can I have some goodbye kisses?" Jesse wouldn't have imagined being so bold earlier that day.
"Of course."
They each gave him a nice, long kiss before he left. He had a spring in his step. He felt like his whole body was glowing.
