I had been waiting to see what happened with the wife and the story just ends. It was pretty shitty how she started fucking around on him, then just ended their marriage. He got into being forced to save them in the first place. That conversation never happened in the story. Robert/Bobbie should be pissed his family ghosted him.

I absolutely loved this story. I kind of wish there was more, but I'm not even sure what I would want more of. And the ending was great. As a fan of noir if the last chapter had been the end I would have accepted it, but I'm glad we got a happy ending.
