The introduction of American style simplism with lawyers and ensuing emotional shock abated and solved by bodily pleasures may be realistic for Americans but degrades the earlier chapters. A top-level law student would never fall for that, at least not in Northern Europe or athoerwise it would be resolved in a different way. The dish of revenge is served ice cold but in this chapter the ice has been boiled and revenge is off the table which in reality would never happen, certainly not if one's life and family was destroyed like that. Intrigues and trickery is more erotically enticing than someone's mother's suicide. If the two mistresses would help Jess getting her revenge, that would be a more satisfying outsome. This is a lez story, men are supposed to be sleazeballs. Jess is not on a losing path.
