Katie reaches to hold my hands in hears and looks deep into my eyes. "Madeline, I love you. You have my mind, body, and soul for as long as you'd like. I know there's no one else for me and if you'll have me, I want to make you my wife. I promise to always be here for you and support you and love our daughter with everything I have forever."
I couldn't believe what I was hearing. I wanted nothing more than to be with Katie forever. I continued looking in her eyes and she reached in her pocket and took out a little black box. She opened it towards me and I gasped as soon as I saw the most perfect 14K White Gold ring with a single large diamond in the center. Say something stupid!
Looking at the ring and then back into her eyes, "Katherine, I would love nothing more than to be your wife. I love you." I kissed her tenderly while tears were streaming down both of our cheeks. We hugged for another minute and pulled apart.
"I had the ring inscribed as well for you. Read it and then we can try it on." Katie said taking the ring out of the box, giving it to me.
I took the ring from her for a minute and tilted it so I could read what was inside. Two simple words, but they mean so much, were inscribed in the ring. "Promises, Promises."
I read the inscription out loud and laughed slightly at it. I gave the ring to Katie and she slipped it on my finger, it fit perfectly. Girl has good taste for sure! "Always and forever love, I promise." Katie said kissing my hand.
"Promises, promises." I responded. I looked into her deep those dark blue eyes of hers and said, "Make love to me."

I got about two thirds down the first page and realised that I really didn’t want to read the fictional equivalent of the sex life of one of the beautiful people, or the Kardashians or some other wannabe celebrity who already has everything. You know, there is something about having how little and ordinary you are rubbed in your face when you read about how successful in life and love a character is in a sex story.
Also... Does the comma (,) key not work on your keyboard? There were several sentences that, were you to try speaking them out loud, might make you black out from oxygen starvation. Most of the rest of what I read was alright as far as punctuation goes, it just wasn’t for me.
Anonymousalmost 7 years agoI thought that the story was well written for the most part and quite touching as a romance, but I thought the character of Henry, the boyfriend, was written so that Maddie would have turned to someone else eventually. Having Henry away from Maddie for months on end only could lead to her finding someone to be with her. In this case it was her female best friend from college Katie, but it could just as easily have been another guy if the author had wanted to go that direction.
By the way, what is a religious consultant, what would one of them do, and why would the government need one?
And the timing of her pregnancy when she was asked by Katie how far along she was and her answer was 8 weeks. She hadn't talked to Katie in 7 weeks prior to that and Henry had been gone for several weeks before that. Timing didn't add up. And Henry signing off on giving up his parental rights was skimmed over pretty quickly. I doubt that Henry would have tossed his first child away so easily.
