Radiance Ch. 36

"S-S-She's a machine?" Malakai exclaimed looking through the glass at the black girl on the table again.

"Yup for all intensive purposes she is anyway, from the notes I read and obviously I can read a lot faster than you guys because I can simply copy the files into my hard drive and they become a part of my knowlage while in this body she is designed to perfectly emulate a human in every way, if it wasn't for the fact she triggered on of their security system they would have never known she wasn't human, apparently she was modeled to look like a perfect replica of one of their staff from another bunker down in Boston and she got caught, they used some kind of weapon on her that fried her brain which wiped the personality but left all of the components biotech or mechanical in perfect condition, though apparently some kind of safe guard in the tech means without a mind to control it the body is basically useless as all they can do is learn what materials were used to make it, so they shipped it here for intensive testing but the shit hit the fan with the brotherhood before they could start" Wisp said.

"Oh wow I never imagined a machine could be pretty but she's really pretty, poor girl," Malakai said softly and instantly even through pain haze Seven realised the implications of this find.

"Seven you do realise what this means right?" she said and he nodded.

"Don't worry Wisp, even if we have to carry her ass out of here and figure it out later, that body is now yours and I'm sorry to say this Shepherd don't give a single fuck about what anyone else says, we're claiming the synth girl, Wisp here has sacrificed more than anyone I have ever know to get us this far and I will move the fucking heavens themselves to make this happen, but that synth, that synth is ours" he said.

It was like an instant switch flipped in Sevens group and before he could say another word or Shepherd could respond the entire group Malakai included moved themselves between Shepherd's group and the brain dead synth girl in the cage to prove a point, they were united on this point, no matter who objected they were claiming and taking that synth for their friend.

"Whoa Whoa Whoa calm your jets tin man, we got no beef with you, hell what fucking use is she gonna be to us anyway? Not like we can sell her for parts, what good they gonna be to anyone? Take her but she gets added to your half of the cut" Shepherd said.

"Deal," Seven said sticking his hand out for them to shake and she did so without hesitation.

"Malakai wrap her up and try not to ogle her too much there will be plenty of time for that when she's chasing your fluffy arse around later," Seven said making the large Archnakai boy baulk.

"I would never disgrace a lady like that! Living or not!" he exclaimed surprisingly angrily and very indignantly so much so that Seven could tell he'd touched a nerve with him.

"Sorry I didn't mean to offend you, it was just a joke," he said and Malakai huffed.

"I am a proud Arachnakai, we do not go around disgracing ourselves or others by denying them their dignity, we know what it is like to be denied ours so we would never do that to others," he said in a cold voice which made Wisp glare at Seven until he stepped forwards and offered his hand to the large Arachnakai boy.

"I'm sorry Malakai, I didn't mean it like that and I did not mean to offend you but I can see that I have and I am man enough to know when I am in the wrong, so I offer my wholehearted apologies and ask for your forgiveness," he said sincerely.

Malakai looked at his hand and then shook it, "Accepted Seven and I am glad to see that you always manage to live up to the example that everyone says you always set for others, very few humans would have done that but you didn't even hesitate, it is I believe a good measure of a person" he said and Seven nodded.

"I try to lead by example, if I am wrong I will make it right, that you have my word on," he said and Malakai nodded.

"And now I trust in that word because I know you won't break it," he said, with that he turned and scuttled over to the room trying to figure out how to open the large perspex door which Wisp helped him with, once inside he set about gathering up all the tools he figured they'd need while at the same time wrapping the naked body in a full-body shroud that once he was done he delicately hoisted onto his back and secured it.

After this the group split up and began to very thourally take inventory of what they could find in the bunker, they had already decided to spend the night there as it made more sense given the sheer amount of time it had taken them to get there to do so, Shepherd had already told them that she'd have teams working around the clock once they'd made it back to shift everything of value back to the town so that it could be broken down for parts to use or sell.

Though as it turned out the Enclave had been pretty good at stripping out anything of major value or sensitivity, but Seven's group did get themselves a shiny new set of plasma weapons and Seven even got a stealth boy upgrade for his power armour which Gregory set about installing at a fully operational power armour stand while Seven nursed his splinting headache in the lobby chairs.

Shepherd actually with the help of Gregory managed to get herself a set of that power armour that they found in pieces dotted all over the workshop and once they'd found a frame to mount it he got it working for her and even helped her register it so only she could use it, a major boon to her team.

So while Visa was off helping in the inventory Seven relaxed in his comfy leather armchair, he got the feeling that Wisp was not going to leave that new body alone for a single minute and would probably wind up driving Gregory nuts until he helped her get it online now rather than later as he'd already seen her floating along following the mechanical ninja from place to place while he relaxed, he couldn't help but smile at the thought of while his head was gradually soothing Gregory's was probably now getting worse.

That's when shit got strange very strange, as he was sitting alone in the lobby he felt a sudden and sharp pain from his left shoulder, he looked down and found what could only be described as a la large wooden dart sticking out of it.

Confused he reached over and pulled it out, it was about eight inches long and one end was covered in very feathery flights while the other some kind of black tar-like substance as well as his blood now, as his brain began to catch up with the implications of this his whole body began to turn to first jelly and then lead.

"Ahh fuck not again," he slurred as he began to slide from the chair and onto the floor, as he did he was just in time to see two large shadowy shapes looming over him and then the whole world went black.

Visa decided to check on her beloved human and to bring him one of the delicious hot drinks that Runs had found in the kitchen of this strange bunker, he'd managed to get one of the heating machines going and had made a huge pot of this stuff enough for everyone, it was really sweet and tasted a lot like those brown bars that humans like to eat whenever they found them, though her beloved one had shared one he'd found with her once and she'd had to admit it was utterly incredible, easily enough to make a girl's tail swish.

As she walked into the lobby she found no sign of her beloved human, she was confused for a minute as he'd not said anything to her about going anywhere and she wondered if maybe he'd gone down to the labs where Wisp had finally driven Gregory into madness with her nagging and they were now working on the strange artificial human they'd found.

But as she placed Seven's cup of drink down on the table he's been using she noticed something on the floor next to his chair, she leant down and scooped it up turning it over in her long clawed fingers curiously, it appeared to become kind of odd-smelling dart, that's when she realised that part of the smell on it was blood, human blood, HER HUMANS BLOOD!

Visa's mind instantly went into panic mode and she dropped her cup which promptly shattered on the black granite floor as she began to run, she reached the lab where her brother and the others were in record time, upon seeing his beloved sister in such a state the smile on Ven's face instantly vanished as he watched his male work on the body they'd recovered.

"What is it? What's happened?" he demanded.

"Seven! It's Seven! Someone's stolen, my human!!" Visa roared and instantly the whole group froze before like a swarm of ants they moved,

Weapons were lifted, checked and shouldered, even Shepherds group were moving, "Who's taken him, sister?" Ven demanded and Visa held up the dart.

"I don't know all I found was this," she wailed fear crushing her heart and voice but it was swiftly being overwhelmed by pure unadulterated rage, some had hurt her man, someone was going to pay with their lives for this and it was not going to be quick or clean.

Ven snatched the dart and smelled it before showing it to the others, "I know those" one of Shepherd's people the one called Spectre said and Ven just managed to block his sister from snatching her from her feet and demanding under the very real threat of evisceration that she tell her everything she knew about the dart wielders.

"Amazons use darts like that when they kidnap people, we've found them at the sites of more than one kidnapping," she said.

"The amazons? I'm going to make them pay for this, if a single hair is out of place on my beloved males head I will tear every head from every set of shoulders until I find the one responsible!!" Visa bellowed.

Suddenly out of nowhere the synthetic black female that Gregory had been working on sat bolt upright on the table and blinked a couple of times out of sequence, blinking one eye then the other before seeming to get the sequence right and then she began to twitch and spasm, Gregory stepped forwards and adjusted a dial on the computer next to her and it ceased.

"Holy shit that fucking worked!! It fucking worked!! I have a body again!!" the woman exclaimed looking down at her hands and smiling all over her surprisingly pretty face, then she seemed to realised that everyone was standing around him and that they did not look happy.

"What's going on?" the woman that by the crumpled Sargent Gutsy next to the bench Visa swiftly figured out was Wisp asked.

"The fucking Amazons had kidnapped my male!!" Visa snarled with pure hate and anger in her voice.

Wisp's now pretty features morphed into one of shock and then into one of pure anger, "Then why the fuck are we all still standing around here? Let's fucking move like we got a purpose people, that man would already be charging headfirst at those fuckers if it was any of us so let's fucking go!!" she yelled jumping off the table before instantly planting face-first into the floor.

"I forgot what it's like to have legs," she mumbled into the concrete as Malakai stepped forwards to hoist her upwards dusting her off, fortunately, they'd already dressed the body in one of the undersuits they found in the storage so she wasn't butt naked.

It didn't take long for the whole group to get organised and into the tunnels again, both Runs and Riss took point due to their incredible tracking skills, Riss was tracking Seven's scent in the air while her beloved husband tracked the signs of the large super mutant sized footprints and disturbances in the stones, before they left so they didn't leave the bunker unprotected Wisp briefly interfaced with the security and switched it all back on once they were clear of the tunnel.

With that the entire group was off and into the tunnel with Visa running behind her two friends, her brother was at her side with his human riding on his back like a horse, hell even Wisp was running along at Malakai's side all of them except the claws and Riss now toting shiny new plasma rifles which Visa knew were incredibly dangerous, Visa's heart pounded with a mixture of fear and determination, she was going to get her beloved male back no matter what, there no force on this Earth that was going to stop her saving her beloved one from those savages and she silently swore that if they'd hurt him she would make every single one of them pay for it, she glanced around at her beloved friends and she instantly noticed that every one of them wore the same expression of pure grim determination, they were going to get their friend and in her case husband back and they were going to go the fuck through anyone who tried to stop them, this is what a pack was all about.
