It was decent enough.

The annoying cliche of "This night would be the last night that she and Vinay would be together." is purely manipulative and insulting. Because, quite realistically, if the cheating spouse was being that eaten up over it..that tired cliche wouldnt be used, it would a call and a "No I can't anymore".

Had it not been for that I would have scored you higher, but the moment I read that I saw it for what it was and you got a bigly eye roll.

On what level is using a hackneyed, trite way of avoiding having to write her dealing in the real world with the consequences of her actions? Yes, trapped in her own mind, she's paying for what she did, but you did so at the expense of killing the husband and children.

If the story was her husband leaving her triggered her breakdown, that they were still alive and going on with their lives while she wallows in her own hell, that might have been something nearing justice, but this is just nihilistic.

This was the very first Indian story I've ever given a *5, or added to my favorites. Dark, depressing, and excellent. Well done.

A dark and powerful tale but I have perceived recently the desire among authors to visit ever more extreme consequences upon the straying wives. I don't like cheaters any more than the other readers do but surely being kicked to the kerb in disgrace, the loss of respect, of friendships and a messy divorce are punishment enough? Still, it was a good read and well worth four stars.

Excellent story. But dark. Suspect if Vinay and not shown up, she would have killed herself that day. Never understood this guilt trip for a day, then back again in 2-3 days. While morally weak, can understand some spouses fall to seduction. But to continue? Such weakness. The guilt is there for a reason. Well written story. While Reena almost certainly cheated, by no means clear that she committed adultery. Regardless she had learned from the tragic tale of Shalini who is indirectly responsible for the death of her family, just so she could get one last f$ck session in with Vinay. Ironically many seducers are not that great in bed. But they do twist their victim's moral fiber into knots. Shalini is stuck in madness. 5 stars.
