very nice story as usual.

I still find very archaic and very outdated, your habit of asking parents for marriage approval, as well as the will not to live together before marriage.

These days, all of this is really very rare and often comes from a very religious family where premarital sex is often prohibited as well.

A nice heartwarming story...

I recently started back writing stories. If something keeps coming into my mind, I try writing about it. After a story is edited I still make changes. (and errors) haha. Thank you all for taking the time to read my stories. I started back reading them myself.

I must say I didn't like the story - it is my least favorite from this author. Well, not so much the story, as the cindy person. That she's willing and able to have sex with this guy while being involved with another means she's a high risk to cheat. She's not awful as a person, but she's not exactly a dream catch she's made out to be by protagonist.

It's been a while, DG. You were one of my favorite authors when I first started reading Lit stories. This was a sweet remembrance. Thank you for sharing it.

First, it's great to read another story from you.

I do have a few quibbles, first, DNA testing didn't take off until about 1980, I'd guess about a decade after your story.

Second, sex is a bad way to determine comparability. In the past 50+ years, I've seen it work occasionally but usually fail.

Name change

I really liked the story--enough to give it five stars. However, the Able family changed their name to Abel, then changed it back again.
